Ram Charan has made a name for himself in Indian showbiz with his power-packed performances in films like Magadheera, Zanjeer, Thoofan, Yevadu, Dhruva, RRR and many more. The multi-hyphenated South Indian superstar is a loving husband and father, along with being a phenomenal actor. For those who don’t know, Ram Charan got married to Upasana Kamineni Konidela in 2012, and the two welcomed their first child, a daughter, Klin Kaara Konidela, in June 2023, after a decade of their marriage.
In an old interview, Upasana Kamineni, who heads the CSR wing of her family’s healthcare empire, Apollo Hospitals, revealed why she chose to have her first baby at 34. During a conversation with iDream Media, the businesswoman highlighted the issue of women’s health and said that women generally don’t care about themselves. She added that if women do not take proper care of themselves, others won’t.

Further in the interaction, Upasana mentioned that she chose to have a kid late in her life, and she doesn’t regret her decision at all. The businesswoman went on to add that she is ready for round two whenever her doctor gives her the green signal. In Upasana’s words:
"I made a choice to have a kid late in life, and I don't regret it at all. That was my choice; that was my thing to do. And I'm ready for round two whenever my doctor is. My health, my choice."

In another interview, Upasana Kamineni talked about her husband, Ram Charan’s bond with their daughter, Klin Kaara. She said that her actor-husband does more than what a mother is generally expected to do. Upasana further added how her daughter’s face lights up whenever she sees her dad, and mentioned that she is sort of jealous of their bond. In her words:

"Whatever a mom is expected to do, I think the dad is doing more than that. We're equally raising Kara, it's beautiful. Ram is a hands-on dad. She's a daddy's girl, and I am extremely jealous. When she sees her dad, her face lights up. There's a special smile, a twinkle in her eyes, and I'm like, come on.”

Previously, during an interview with the Hindustan Times, the businesswoman discussed juggling work and motherhood and shared how women face many hardships when they choose to get married or have kids. Upasana shared that people need to change certain mindsets. Opening up about facing challenges after being a mother herself, Upasana said:
"Being a mom, it is a huge battle for me to be as productive at work as I was before. I am trying my best and know I am going to excel at it. These are mindsets that we have to change. Corporate India must make amendments to make it easier for women in India. POSH committees helped with that. I am working with companies on flexible maternity leaves.”
