Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are one of the cutest couples in Bollywood. They believe in keeping their relationship low-key and away from the media glare. However, Ranbir and Alia's relationship often end up in the headlines. Ranbir and Alia tied the knot on April 14, 2022, at their home in Mumbai. The same year, the duo welcomed their baby girl, Raha Kapoor. The couple knows how to strike a perfect balance between their relationship and their role as new parents.
Recently, Ranbir made headlines for all the wrong reasons, as Alia revealed that every time they go out, he asks her to wipe off her lipstick. While the internet called Ranbir toxic, many think that it is 'typical Indian husband' behaviour, whose love language is always roasting their wife. Read on to know more!

Okay, we all will agree that Indian husbands and their sense of humour after marriage is all about making fun of their wives. And Ranbir ended up doing the same thing last year. However, he landed in big trouble after making fun of his then-pregnant wife, Alia Bhatt's weight. For those who don't know, it all started during a YouTube live, wherein Ayan Mukerji asked Ranbir and Alia why they were not promoting the film everywhere. To this, Alia instantly replied, "We will promote the film, and we will be everywhere, but if the question you are asking is why we are not phailod everywhere, right now our focus is..." However, Ranbir interrupted, pointed out Alia's baby bump, and made fun of her baby bump. He quipped:
"Well I can say somebody has phailod."
Ranbir Kapoor is a doting daddy to Raha and loves his wife, Alia, to infinity. However, like every Indian husband, he also doesn't like his wife and her over-excited nature. During an interview with GoodTimes, Ranbir revealed Alia has a loud personality. He revealed that he truly hopes his daughter Raha looks like her mother, Alia. But she doesn't take her personality. Ranbir added that Alia has a very loud personality, and it would be difficult to handle two girls at home with the same personality. He was quoted as saying:
"I hope [Raha] looks like Alia. She'll be a nicer-looking person if she looks like her. I just hope she has my personality rather than hers because I can't have two women like Alia in the house. Alia has a very loud personality; she talks quite loud and is vivacious. Two girls at home like that would be quite a daunting task for me. I hope Raha is a bit more quiet and demure like me so then we both can handle Alia."

When Ranbir and Alia were dating, the former often pulled her leg. He made fun of Alia and her photography skills during one such instance. He even went on to say that she only loves herself. In a clip shared by Alia in 2019, she was seen asking Ranbir about her photography skills. And without even mincing his words, Ranbir said, "It sucks." He further took a dig at how Alia Bhatt 'only loves herself'. He was quoted as saying:
"It sucks because the photographer has to be in love with the subject and I don't think you are in love with anything except yourself."

Alia often talks about her relationship in the media. She once revealed that her husband, Ranbir, doesn't like her when she angrily raises her voice (Indian Husband alert). In an interaction with Vice.com, Alia stated that the moment her voice reaches a decibel, Ranbir calls it unfair, and advises her to be kind even in anger. Alia was quoted as saying:
"The one thing that immediately puts me in a fit of anger is incompetence. And I have to try very hard to control my anger because my husband does not like (it) when my voice goes above this decibel. Because he thinks it's not fair and it's important to be kind even when you are unhappy."
We have often seen the men in our houses make fun of their wives and how they are struck with them. There was a time when Ranbir's dialogue from a film, wherein he called 'shaadi dal chawal for pachaas saal till you die', became a part of his personality. However, after he married Alia, he said that dal chawal is the best. Well, that's how husbands express their love by calling you boring 'dal-chawal'. It is their sweet way of loving their partner.
Another thing the Indian husband tolerates about his wife, is her makeup. Not many men love their girls in heavy makeup and loud lipsticks. And that is one of the main reasons why Ranbir asks Alia to wipe off her lipstick whenever they are out together. Alia revealed this side of Ranbir in an interview with Vogue. She was quoted as saying:
"I thought, that was just something that I worked out for myself, and then, I rub it off. Because one thing my husband, when he wasn’t my husband when he was my boyfriend as well, says when we used to go out at night, he used to say ‘Wipe that [lipstick] off. Wipe that off’. Because he loves the natural colour of my lip."
Another thing about husbands is that they love making fun of their wives and taunting them. Similarly, Ranbir loves making fun of Alia, and he also makes her learn many things, which she didn't know earlier. Alia had revealed on Koffee couch that whenever she and Ranbir would do a ritual together, he would ask her, "Jai karna aata hai."
The internet might paint Ranbir as a 'toxic husband', but those who grew up in a typical Indian family will agree that husbands are like that. They love ganging up against their wife with their kids, and roasting them. It is also said that if a couple can laugh at each other, and with each other, their relationship will go a long way. What do you think?
