Ranbir Kapoor's acting skills are simply praiseworthy. Over the years, the actor has proved his mettle. It was in the movie, Animal when the cine lovers were in awe of the actor's masterclass performance. Well, the plot of the movie was based on the complex relationship between a son and a father, and people started thinking if Ranbir acted so well because of the movie's similarities with his real life. Time and again, Ranbir has talked about his relationship with his late father, Rishi Kapoor. In a recent interview, he shared his reaction to the news of his father's demise.
Recently, Ranbir Kapoor sat for an interview on Nikhil Kamath's podcast and talked about several aspects of his life. Talking about his father's death, Ranbir mentioned that he had stopped crying from a very early stage of his life. The Animal actor mentioned that he didn't even shed tears when his father passed away.

Sharing more about the same, Ranbir stated the night before, when his father had passed away that, the doctors came in and broke the news of the late actor having very little time. Ranbir mentioned that he just got up and walked into a room. The actor revealed suffering a panic attack and not being able to understand what was going on. Ranbir also added that he doesn't think that he has grieved or understood the loss back then. Ranbir can be quoted as saying:
"I stopped crying very early on. I didn’t even cry when my father passed away. When I was spending the night at the hospital, the doctor told me, ‘This is his last night, he is going to go anytime soon,’ I remember going up to the room and had a panic attack. I didn’t know how to express myself, there was too much happening that was to take. But I don’t think I have grieved, understood the loss.”
Ranbir has often stated that he and his father have a lot of distance despite sharing a good bond. In the latest interview, the Animal actor said that he is extremely guilty for not being able to let go of that distance that was in his heart. Sharing an incident, Ranbir mentioned that when he and others were in NYC, one day, Rishi Kapoor just came and started crying inconsolably.

Ranbir mentioned that it got awkward for him as he couldn't understand whether to hold his father or just hug him, and it was because of the distance between them. Talking more about the same, Ranbir stated that he's just built in that way, and although he has his wife, sister, mom, and daughter, he is still not sure if he could ever be able to showcase his weakness. Stating that he is guilty of not being able to let it go, Ranbir added:
"The one year we spent together in New York while his treatment was on, he often spoke about that. I was there for 45 days and one day he came and started crying. He has never shown that kind of weakness to me. It was so awkward for me because I didn’t know if I should hold him or hug him; I really realised the distance. I feel guilty that I didn’t have the grace to let go off the distance between us and go and hug him, give him some love."
