Popular actor, Randeep Hooda is known for his straightforward nature, besides acting skills and more. He has time and again reacted to many ongoing issues around him, among which one of them was his reaction to Kangana Ranaut slamming his Highway co-star, Alia Bhatt. The Swatantrya Veer Savarkar actor had once defended Alia when Kangana called her a “mediocre” actor. Now, when he was yet again asked about the same, he talked about his "spiritual bond" with Alia and how she is unfairly targeted.
In a candid conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Randeep Hooda was asked about the time when he had defended Alia Bhatt after Kangana Ranaut called her a “mediocre” actor. To this, the actor immediately mentioned that he developed a "spiritual bond" with Alia during their film's shoot, and mentioned how he always saw her attempting to do newer things. Thus, he felt that she was unfairly targeted. Moreover, he seemingly took a dig at Kangana by mentioning that it is “unbecoming” of her to target one’s colleagues. He said:
“While making Highway, I developed a spiritual bond with Alia. I don’t know if it’s the same for her. That’s up to her. I can only speak for myself. I have seen that she has always tried to do new things. I stood up for her genuinely because she was unfairly targeted. To target your fellow actors or your colleagues or your fraternity over things that you feel you did not get, even though I think you did got a lot from this industry, it’s just unbecoming. I felt that I should do it and I did it."

Along with it, the Reddit user penned, "Randeep Hooda calls out Kangana for unfairly targeting Alia back in 2019 for her own gain amid all the SSR related events." Following this, many other netizens started commenting on the same. While some praised Randeep for taking a stand, others mentioned that Kangana should get the proper reply.

Earlier, in 2019, Kangana once mocked Alia’s performance in her then-released film, Gully Boy. Kangana said, “I am embarrassed…What is there to beat in Gully Boy Performance ….same snappy muh phat girl… Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media has taken filmy kids love too far…stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised.” Soon, Alia responded to Kangana's statement by talking about her dad, Mahesh Bhatt's thoughts. In Alia's words:
“I definitely don’t have the ability to speak as candidly as Kangana does. I really do respect her for that. And, maybe, in a way, she is right. Sometimes we do hold back. My dad also says that there are already so many opinions in the world that it can do with one less opinion. So, I have an opinion, but I’ll keep it to myself. But, kudos to her as she genuinely speaks really well.”

Randeep Hooda had then yet again supported Alia Bhatt when she gave a sassy reply to Kangana Ranaut. He had taken to his Twitter handle and written, “Dearest @aliaa08 I’m so glad you are not letting the opinions of very occasional actors and chronic victims affect you and your work .. kudos to you for your continued efforts to outdo yourself.” Alia acknowledged his support and had reposted it with a small caption, mentioning, “Randy” followed by smiling face with open hands emoji.
