Rani Mukerji is one of the iconic actresses in Bollywood. Right from her debut in the 90s, the diva has captivated millions of audiences with her exceptional acting chops, breathtaking looks, charismatic personality and whatnot. In her personal life, the actress is married to the head of Yash Raj Films, Aditya Chopra, and the couple is blessed with a daughter, Adira. Recently, the doting mommy revealed a special anecdote about her life, that has a special connection with her little one.
In a recent interaction with India Today, Rani Mukerji walked down the memory lane and recalled how growing up, she used to miss out on celebrating her birthday. The diva remarked that the reasons behind the same were very odd, and she would oddly have all her final exams right at the time of her birthday. Calling it a miserable experience of her childhood, Rani said:
“I love celebrating my birthday. For some odd reasons, we always had exams during my birthday – and that too, final exams. And I used to feel miserable because I was never able to celebrate with my friends.”

Moving forward in the conversation, Rani Mukerji shared that nowadays, she tends to fulfil her lost desires of celebrating her birthday in childhood by instead celebrating those of her daughter, Adira. The doting mommy remarked that she celebrates her angel’s birthday with a lot of love and fulfils all her expectations of celebrating her own birthday. In her words:
“Now, I celebrate my daughter Adira’s birthday with a lot of love. All the expectations that I had for my birthday, I am trying to do it through my daughter’s birthday.”
On March 20, 2024, Rani Mukerji rang in her pre-birthday celebration with the paparazzi. In the various glimpses that has surfaced on the internet, the diva cut two scrumptious cakes ahead of her 45th birthday. For the day, she sported a white-hued flowy outfit. She pulled off her look with minimal makeup, open tresses and a pair of sunnies. However, what caught our attention was that Rani accessories her OOTD with a customised neckpiece featuring her daughter, Adira’s name attached to it.

Previously, in an interaction with Pinkvilla, Rani Mukerji revealed which one of her films her daughter, Adira has watched. The diva revealed that her little one has only watched her film, Hum Tum since it is the only one wherein the former hasn’t cried much on-screen. Adding how her daughter cannot sit through her movies, Rani explained:
“So, actually she has not seen all my films because she is very young but her favourite film of mine out of the films that I’ve shown her is Hum Tum because that is the only film I’ve not cried much because she gets affected when she sees me cry on-screen. She can’t differentiate between her mumma and the character.”
