Post Rani Mukerji's super-secretive wedding, the actress had made some revelations about her relationship with Aditya Chopra and their first meeting. In an interview with the Bombay Times, the actress was asked who amongst the duo had confessed their feelings first. To this, Rani had admitted that it was Aditya who had gone to her home and had asked her for a date in front of her parents. She had also added that though she wanted it to be the traditional way, Aditya's proposal was surreal for her. She had said:
"Of course he said it. I would like it the traditional way. On my first date, Adi came home and asked me out in front of my parents. For me, nothing could have been more beautiful than that."
Further, in the interview, Rani had narrated the first meeting with her husband, Aditya Chopra, via their common friend-cum-filmmaker, Karan Johar. Rani had mentioned that, unlike other actresses, she hadn't walked to Aditya to say hi, which had become the duo's bizarre memory. Rani had shared:
"I first met Adi socially when I was doing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, through Karan. Though Adi tells me that after my first film Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat, he has a very vivid memory of seeing me in Sampan restaurant, where much as he had expected, I did not walk up to him to say a hi even though DDLJ had already released and he was already Aditya Chopra. Since actresses would usually walk up and introduce themselves to him, he found it strange."

"And you will be surprised that he was also instrumental in me getting Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as he saw my first film and told Karan Johar, 'I think you should take this girl as she will be the next big star.'"
In 2015, Rani had given a pleasant surprise to everyone and had welcomed her daughter, Adira Chopra into the world. In an interview with IANS, the actress had shared how her husband had encouraged her to continue doing films even after her pregnancy and had shared:
"Even at a time when I was having my baby, and I was not sure about going back to the arclights, it was my husband who reminded me of the fan following that I have and that I needed to go back again and face the camera because I am no longer Rani Mukerji the person, but Rani Mukerji the star that my fans have created."
For the unversed, Aditya Chopra was earlier married to an interior designer, Payal Khanna. And according to Rani Mukerji, she had started dating Aditya, after his divorce was finalised.
