Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh became proud parents to their baby girl, and it's like a fairytale that came true. The couple dated for a few years before the actor proposed marriage to Deepika back in 2015 during their romantic trip to the Maldives. They exchanged vows in 2018 in a dreamy wedding soiree. And now, a little member came to their house. The couple is yet to announce the news of the arrival of the little Lakshmi to their home. Amid all the joy and excitement, let us tell you that Ranveer actually wanted to be a father to a daughter, and now his wish has come true.
During the trailer launch event of his film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Ranveer Singh was asked about his preference for having a baby boy or baby girl. To this, the actor gave the sweetest reply and used one of the dialogues of the film, wherein it was stated that no one knows what prasadam they will get, either ladoo or peda, and similar is the case with the wish to have a baby, and what God will wish, that will happen. Ranveer said:

"Actually it's not my choice. Dialogue hai trailer mein that when we go to mandir, prasad mein ladoo ya peda milega we can't pick. Upar wala jaisa chahega waise hoga meri niji zindagi mein.”
It's common for a lovey-dovey couple to want each other's mini versions as their babies, and similar was the case with Ranveer Singh. During the same event, Ranveer said that he would have babies within a few years. He added that Deepika was super cute when she was a baby girl, and he used to watch her photos from childhood, thinking that his life would be set once he would have the mini-version of Deepika around him. Sharing that he was shortlisting names, Ranveer said:
“Jaisa ki aap log jante hai meri shaadi ho gai hai aur ab 2-3 saal mein bacche bhi honge. Bhaisaab, aapki bhabhi itni cute baby thi na. Main to roz uski baby photos dekhta hoon, kehta hoon ek aisi de de mujhe bus meri life set ho jaye. Main shortlist bana raha hoon names ke."
In another interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ranveer Singh revealed the reason why he prefers baby girls over a baby boy. The actor said that a girl is nicer, kinder, and more intelligent. He also added that girls are more involved, and he prefers feminine energy around him.
After a long wait, and a lot of wild guesses about Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone having either twins or a baby boy, the actress gave birth to a baby girl a day after the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi. The couple has not yet announced the same, but as per several reports, DeepVeer's baby girl was born on September 8, 2024. On the same day, the actress along with her husband and family members, was spotted at the Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai.
