Ratan Raajputh is one of the most popular television actresses. She proved her acting mettle in several TV shows, including Raavan, Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, Ratan Ka Rishta and others. However, Ratan took a break in late 2017 after her father's demise, and she was also diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. Now, as she is gearing up to return to her acting career once again, she opened up about her 'casting couch' experience.
In an interview with Aaj Tak, Ratan Raajputh recalled her initial days in the industry. She also revealed facing the casting couch when she went to audition for a project. The actress mentioned that her audition took place in the director's absence, and she was soon shortlisted. Following this, the actress revealed how one of the coordinators was getting extra friendly with her. Elaborating more on the same, the actress stated:
“I gave my audition but the director wasn't present there. Some co-ordinator of a lower level took my audition and said 'You did so well ma'am. Sir has been talking only about you. Aapka hi hoga'. I said okay."

In the same conversation, Ratan revealed that since she would never go alone to auditions at that time, both she and her friend were offered some cold drinks. And soon, she returned to her hotel in Oshiwara, where Ratan also saw several other well-known actors, she felt a bit dizzy and understood that something was wrong. So she refused to go to the hotel, where the host insisted her to go and said no to the script. Ratan also mentioned that now many such aspiring artists seek her guidance on her YouTube channel about the initial days in the industry. She stated:
“They offered us cold drink and kept insisting on it. We took a sip, even though we didn't want to. Then they said they would call me for another audition. My friend and I reached home and I started feeling a bit uneasy. That was when I began wondering if there was something mixed in the cold drink.”
In an interview with Zoom TV Digital, Ratan Raajputh was asked whether she left TV. To this, she immediately denied it and shared how her father's demise led her to depression. Thus, she took a break from her acting career. In addition, she revealed going through an extremely dark phase in her life when she was also diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, which took a lot of time to heal.

Further, Ratan shared her healing process. She mentioned being on a break until December and revealed how she started fighting her mental health issues by travelling to newer places. She also started battling with it by undergoing LMNT (Licenced Medical Nutrition Therapy) treatment. Moreover, since the lockdown in 2020, Ratan started her YouTube channel, where she keeps sharing her travelling stories and beautiful Vlogs.
