The 'mast-mast' girl of Bollywood, Raveena Tandon is known for her bindaas attitude. Since the 90s, the actress believed in living on her own terms and she became the heroine of every hit film back, ruling the box office. However, not many know she had defied the societal norms at an early age of 21 by adopting two daughters, Pooja Tandon and Chhaya Tandon in the year 1995. Those were the times when actresses, who took this decision used to get a lot of backlashes, but Raveena didn't think much about what the society will say and took the decision. Later, Raveena got married to Anil Thadani and became a proud mother of a daughter, Raasha, and a son, Ranbir.
Recently, Raveena hosted a baby shower bash with daughter Raasha Thandani for her adoptive daughter, Chhaya Tandon, who is soon going to embrace motherhood. The actress' close friend, Pooja Makhija took to her Instagram handle and shared pictures from the bash. Along with it, she wrote, "Cheers to the 'Nani to be'! Many preach unselfish love but @officialraveenatandon you practice it with true passion. Was so touching to see you celebrate the baby shower of your adopted baby with such perfection and care. And @officialrashathadani you were the such a great host, compere and I'm sure a super 'masi to be'. So so proud of you Ravs." Take a look at the pictures below:
In a throwback interview, Raveena had talked about her decision and had shared, "I didn’t think too much at that time about how I would manage it. I knew that I could afford to bring up and give a great life to two children and I went ahead with it. I am so proud of them today. But of course, I could not have done it without my family. I would be shooting non-stop and they took care of them entirely." (Also Read: Shloka Mehta Twins With Her Sister In These Unseen Pictures From Her Wedding Ceremonies)

In an interview with the Verve magazine, Raveena had shared the challenges she faced, and had said, “This was before Mohra (1994). My mother and I used to visit orphanages like Asha Sadan on our weekends. When my cousin passed away he left behind two young daughters, Chaya and Pooja. I didn’t like the way their guardian was treating them so I took them home with me. I didn’t think much of it. It came naturally to me. I wanted to give the girls the life they deserved. I’m not a multibillionaire but I do what I can to help.”
She had further added, "Some people wondered what would happen to the two children once I got married. They said no one would marry me as I came with excess baggage. But I said I come in a package deal: my children, my dogs and me. Take it or leave it. Fortunately, my husband (Anil Thadani) and in-laws dote on the girls."
Talking about her girls, the actress had stated, "From the time I held the girls’ hands when we were taking our first flight, to walking them down the aisle, to holding my first grandchild in my arms, every moment has been priceless. They love my biological children, Rasha and Ranbirvardhan. They pay it forward by being kind to others. Every Mother’s Day the girls send me cards and letters saying how much they love me.
