Priyanka Prakash, who is the Jewellery Editor for Vogue, wanted someone whom she could trust completely with her bridal look for the biggest day of her life. Being in the fashion industry for so long, Priyanka had always designed iconic looks for other people. Now when it was time for her to be the one for whom the look is being designed, she could trust no other than her friend and someone whom she had known and worked with, for a long time. None other than, every bride's dream designer, the man Sabyasachi Mukerjee himself.

Priyanka started out quite young in the fashion industry, and her journey from being an intern at Vogue to their Jewellery Editor is commendable. It's strange how your work shapes you as a person, and maybe this is why Priyanka was worried more as an event planner for her wedding, than as a bride. And why should she, anyway? After all, none other than Sabyasachi Mukerjee himself was going to take care of her bridal ensemble. Working in the world of fashion for so many years, when Priyanka was asked in an interview with Ambika, the in-house designer of Sabyasachi, that how would she define her personal fashion vocabulary, she said,
"I love vintage fashion as a person. Especially with accessories and jewellery, I just love a vintage vibe."
No wonder, she chose to be a Sabyasachi bride! If her words are to be believed, Priyanka had always pictured herself as a very traditional, really quintessential Indian bride, and who better than Sabyasachi Mukerjee himself for the same. This bride, who used to style the looks of other celebrities had left Sabyasachi to worry about her bridal look.

The magic of Sabyasachi bridal look can be guessed with the fact, that Priyanka had chosen her designer, before her husband for her wedding! She always knew she was going to be a Sabyasachi bride. The funny thing was, even after working for almost 8 years together, Sabya was taken by surprise when he got to know that Priyanka Parkash had decided to get married on his show Band Baajaa Bride.
Priyanka was so eager and excited by the thought of Sabyasachi putting together her bridal look, that the second she got proposed, she started stalking all the social media handles of Sabyasachi! Her blind faith in Sabyasachi, reflects from her statement,
"I literally want to give a hundred per cent of it away. I don't want to have any kind of involvement (of myself) honestly, in what that look looks like."
After a lot of deliberations and discussions, it was decided that Priyanka's bridal look will be in red. Sabyasachi even went on to say that Priyanka will look like a goddess in red! It was then Priyanka's jaw dropped in surprise when Sabyasachi asked her to model for his Band Baajaa Bride campaign. Priyanka didn't take much time to say yes, because who would?
Never before did a Sabyasachi bride had the chance to become a Sabyasachi model as well, but, as we said earlier, this bride was special. Priyanka had modelled for the ace designer, Sabyasachi's Summer 2020 collection, and being a person who is used to being behind the camera, she was very nervous. She had donned a black saree with golden border, golden jhumkaas, nude makeup with bold lips. She personified confidence in that outfit.
Ever since Sabyasachi started showing her jewellery for her bridal look, Priyanka knew she wanted to wear it all. After months of planning each and every rigorous detail of the wedding, and everything, it was now time to put together Sabyasachi's ensemble. Priyanka had looked gorgeous in a bright red lehenga, with golden embroidery and border. She had donned layered necklace pieces with launga choker piece on the top with the Lakshmi on it. Beautiful Punjabi jhumkaas along with a stunning matha patti had completed her look. Priyanka was at first, sceptical about sporting a nath, but when she did, it looked amazing on her.
Priyanka did, in fact, looked like a goddess in her wedding ensemble as Sabyasachi had rightly predicted. She had posted a beautiful picture of herself getting ready on her wedding day, on her Instagram with a heartfelt caption,
"I love makeup. I don’t like to wear a little of it - because if you’re doing something do it right. I also love to buy makeup and can spend hours and hours at Sephora and not realise it (time passes fast when you’re having fun.) While I lurveee stalking the beauty industry and what’s new - I have a few favourites that I would literally mourn the loss of if they ever got discontinued. These are the babies I stock up on NO MATTER WHAT. The rebuys and loves of my life that are still my go to. In my story - enjoy."
