Rhea Chakraborty is one of the popular faces in the world of glitz and glamour. The 32-year-old started out in the industry over a decade ago and was a rising star in Bollywood till a tragedy struck in her personal life. Rhea became a victim of a 'witch hunt' and massive backlash after her then-actor-boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput, died by suicide in 2020.

Despite hitting rock bottom, Rhea did not shy away from standing up for herself. Four years after the incident, the actress made a comeback on TV with MTV Roadies and launched her own podcast, Chapter 2, which premiered on July 20, 2024. In the latest episode of the podcast, which featured Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, Rhea opened up about the time when Sushant Singh Rajput had passed away, following which she faced intense scrutiny from the actor's fans.

During the conversation, Aamir Khan praised Rhea's resilience and courage. He added that despite going through such a 'tragedy', the actress did not lose hope or faith in herself. Aamir further discussed Rhea's patience and strength during the tough phase in her life and said that people should learn from that. Aamir was quoted as saying:

"What happened with you, I would call it a tragedy. The way your life changed after that, and the way you have shown patience and strength, you didn’t lose hope or faith in yourself. We all can learn a lot from that. A person’s morale breaks and gets crushed. You are starting your second chapter."

After Aamir's opinion on Rhea's situation, the latter said that an army upbringing has a lot to do with how she handled things when things went haywire. The actress discussed that she had seen it from childhood that when her father left, there was always a possibility he might not come back. Rhea added that they were taught to fight, never give up, and always stay hopeful in dire situations.

In the same conversation, Rhea shared that it took her years to come out of the grief that struck after Sushant's sudden demise. However, she is now ready to start her 'Chapter 2'. The actress revealed that, at present, she feels like meeting new people, and her curiosity has been revived as well. Rhea was quoted as saying:

"It took me so long to start chapter 2 is because I was healing all this while. There was pain, anxiety, PTSD, and whatnot. And grief has a veto power over everything else. You could be talking to someone, and you get engulfed by grief out of the blue. There were some of the things, but today I feel that I have renewed energy. I feel like meeting people, my curiosity has been revived. After overcoming that, now I feel like the sun is rising again. I feel like doing new things."

Meanwhile, Rhea also shared the real reason behind releasing a podcast of her own. She revealed how the media went extreme after SSR's death and added that she tried giving a couple of interviews, but it didn't feel good. Rhea also recalled an incident in which a podcaster asked Rhea to appear on his show and promised to talk as 'friends', only to make everything worse. She was quoted as saying:

"I went on a podcast some time ago, and he promised me that ‘come, we will talk as friends; that person said, I won’t question you like a journalist, we are new media, we are podcasters’, but he made it all even worse for me. I didn’t let him release that podcast. At least, in the case of traditional media, I know how they are going to approach things, and I go prepared. It was that day that I decided that I want to create a safe space where I want to speak to people."
