Richa Chadha has won hearts with her mesmerising performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The actress was seen in the role of 'Lajjo,' and she did proper justice to her role. Talking about her personal life, Richa is married to Ali Fazal, and the duo will soon be parents to their first child. Recently, in an interview, Richa opened up about shooting for a scene wherein she had to consume alcohol to act in a drunk dancing scene and how it later worsened things.
In a recent interview with Zoom, Richa Chadha shared that in Heeramandi, there was a scene wherein she had to act like a drunk dancer. The actress mentioned that even after 40 retakes, she was not able to get the scene right, which is why she decided to have a quarter of alcohol, and after that, things turned out to be even worse. Speaking along the same lines, Richa mentioned:

"I didn’t want that lethargy in the body movement, I wanted some of it, maybe the precision can go but I didn’t want to let go of the grace."

Going further in the interview, Richa Chadha shared that after having some alcohol, she realised that she was doing better without it as she had more control over the scene. Richa also added that it was fun for her to do the scenes in Heeramandi, and she had to dance with heavy clothes on. Talking more about her role, the mom-to-be, Richa remarked that she had given 100 percent to each of the scenes although she had limited screenplay in Heeramandi. Richa concluded by saying that it had taken a lot out of her, but she just loved doing it.
The entire girl gang of Heeramandi graced Kapil Sharma's Netflix show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. On the show, Kapil asked Manisha Koirala if she was nervous while working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. To this, the actress mentioned that she indeed used to get nervous before almost every scene. Meanwhile, Richa asked everyone about the highest number of retakes they had to give in Heeramandi. Sonakshi said she had to give 12 retakes for a scene. However, everyone remained shocked when Richa added that she had to give 99 retakes for a scene in Heeramandi.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the makers of Heeramandi hosted a success party for the series at Gigi in Bandra. However, while being there 'Ustadji,' Indresh Malik reportedly confirmed that season 2 of Heeramandi is so much on the cards. Although SLB, during an informal meeting, stated the possibility of Heeramandi 2, he is yet to make it official announcement regarding the same.

While everyone is in awe of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's craft in his debut web series, he was also slammed by a certain section of netizens for glorifying the courtesans' lives and brothels in his work. A Pakistani doctor lashed out at SLB's creation and shared that the lives of the courtesans were not at all that glittering, which is portrayed in the series. On the other hand, SLB's choice of his niece, Sharmin Segal, in the series and the way she acted in the series brought about a nepotism debate as well.
