Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are one of the most loved couples in B-town. The adorable couple tied the knot in 2020, and it was in 2022 that they celebrated their union in a dreamy ceremony. However, Richa and Ali never shy away from setting pure couple goals for others out there. For those who don't know, Richa and Ali launched the teaser of their wedding documentary, RiAliTY, a few days ago. And since then, they have been sharing unheard anecdotes about themselves. And yet the same happened again, as recently, Richa opened up about how her mom reacted to the former's union with Ali.
During a conversation on the All About Eve podcast, Richa Chadha revealed a hilarious anecdote about her mom's reaction when she told her about her budding romance with Alia Fazal. The actress shared that her mom thought Ali was married and had two kids as he confused him with Pakistani artist, Ali Zafar. Richa recalls her mom saying:

The actress offered one trick that can save one from the questions related to marriage, and that would be by dating someone from another caste. Richa also added that her parents never pressured her to get married.
Further, in the conversation, Richa also opened up about her marriage and revealed that she and Ali got married under the Special Marriage Act. For the unversed, the Special Marriage Act forms a secular and non-discriminatory legal framework for marriage. The act allows the individuals to tie the knot without being bound by the customs and rituals of their different religions. Elaborating more on her marriage, Richa said:
"We got married under the Special Marriage Act, and the family court is right around the corner. And it was super peaceful. And I don’t think it’s out of the ordinary. It happens in society, which is why there is a very big act for it. Of course, I feel like media really makes these kinds of things, it’s actually terrible and is very corrosive for society."
