Richa Chadha gained lots of appreciation for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s one of a kind series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Her tragic character of ‘Lajjo’ tugged the chords of several hearts, and the audiences couldn’t stop praising her acting skills. Additionally, it has been a glorious time in the actress’ personal life as well, since Richa is expecting her first child with hubby, Ali Fazal. And amidst it all, the mommy-to-be seems to have signed up for work already, that she cannot wait to jump in, right after welcoming her bundle of joy.
Well, Richa Chadha’s decision to keep herself prepared for work in advance, so she can jump back to it after the birth of her child, has surprised many. The diva, who has been on her maternity break at the moment, discussed the same and mentioned how the choice of getting back to work after motherhood is a unique decision to take for every woman. Speaking to News18, the actress mentioned how ecstatic she is to switch over to work soon. In her words:
“While I can’t speak for all women, because it depoends on each individual what their journey is like, I am determined to get back to work as soon as possible, and not take a long break, as I have pending commitments.”

Moving forth in the conversation, Richa Chadha dived into the discussion of balancing both her personal life as a mother, as well completing her standing professional commitments. While such a choice is termed scary by many, Richa mentioned how she has always drawn inspiration from her mother, as well as other hard-working women around her, who have nailed with finesse such dichotomy. Richa mentioned:
“I take immense inspiration from my own mother, who managed both roles with grace and efficiency. I believe I can handle both duties effectively as well, becasue it depends on the kind of support system you have around you and how hands-on your partner is. In my case, I feel blessed to have both those things figured out. I also don’t think it is out of the ordinary. I have seen the badass women of Mumbai take local trains well into their 9th month, heading to work, looking perfectly groomed iwth their gajras intact. I am very inspired by the average Indian woman and don’t want this to be treated as a medical condition, it is not. It is a natural part of life”.
Earlier, during an interaction with Filmygyan, Richa Chadha opened up about her candid feelings about her pregnancy. The expectant mommy revealed how she believes her soon-to-be born child has brought in a lot of luck for her husband, Ali Fazal, who landed up on a lot of projects after her pregnancy. The diva further added:
“I really hope so. I think certainly pregnancy has been very lucky for Ali (Fazal). Suddenly he signed 4-5 films and then got a lot of international auditions also, queries from abroad. It was quite interesting for me to see. Actually, it's a blessing, you can't plan these things, when it happens, it happens.”
Previously, in another of her conversations with News18 Showsha, Richa Chadha had spilled beans about whether she and her husband, Ali Fazal have yet zeroed down on any baby names for their child. For the unversed, the couple had been exceptionally busy with professional commitments ever since they announced their pregnancy. In her response, Richa clarified that while they haven’t yet finalised any name for their child, but they wish to sit down and discuss about the matter sometime soon.

In another segment of the same interview, Richa Chadha had talked about how the feeling of being pregnant hit her, even though she knew about it for a week. The diva remarked that her first reaction to the news was quite practical, as she started off to plan her work schedule first before everything else. In her words:
“I immediately went into planning mode. I started thinking about how we have to push this film we’re producing from March to October and if the season and the light will match with the mood of the film. I also thought about relocating things around the house to make space. My thoughts were all very practical. My pregnancy hit me properly only after a week.”
