Last year, on this day, we lost one of the shiniest stars of Bollywood, Rishi Kapoor. On April 30, 2020, the nation had woken up with the most terrible news of losing one of its rarest gems. Rishi Kapoor had bid adieu to everyone who had loved him immensely and had left for the heavenly abode. The 67-year-old actor, who was fighting with cancer for two years, had finally freed himself from all the pains. It’s been a year since Rishi Kapoor passed away, but we still can’t fathom the loss.

With nearly 50 years of active career, Rishi Kapoor always believed in staying honest to one’s craft. Born in the family of stars, Rishi was born to act. His debut as the main lead in the film, Bobby, opposite Dimple Kapadia is still treated as one of the best romantic movies of that era. Rishi Kapoor was a charmer, who would melt anyone’s heart with his smile. Just like a stupendous actor, he was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.
Today, on Rishi Kapoor’s first death anniversary, his daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni penned an emotional note for him. Sharing a collage of pictures with him, Riddhima wrote, “If only i could hear you call me mushk once more… “Until we meet again we think about you always, we talk about you still, you have never been forgotten, and you never will. We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain, to walk and guide us through our lives, until we meet again.” – Dorothy Mae Cavendish. I love you always.”
After the death of Rishi Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor had been the pillar of strength for her mother, Neetu Kapoor. For the unversed, Riddhima couldn't attend her father's last rites due to the lockdown in Mumbai amid COVID-19, and her mother, Neetu and brother, Ranbir had taken care of everything. It was indeed a heartbreaking situation for Riddhima to not being able to be with her family at such a devastating time.

However, Riddhima had penned an emotional eulogy for her papa, Rishi Kapoor. She had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared a selfie with him and had written, “Papa I love you I will always love you - RIP my strongest warrior I will miss you everyday I will miss your FaceTime calls everyday! I wish I could be there to say goodbye to you! Until we meet again papa I love you - your Mushk forever.” Riddhima had also posted an Insta story while travelling from Delhi to Mumbai, and had written, “Driving home ma. Enroute to Mumbai.”

On Rishi Kapoor’s 68th birthday, Riddhima had penned a heartmelting wish for him. Sharing an array of pictures of her late father, Riddhima had revealed how painful it is for her to live without him. Her note could be read as “Papa, They say when you lose someone, you can’t live without -your heart will badly break! But I know you are living in this broken heart & will be there forever! I know you are watching over all of us & ensuring that we live by the value system you instilled in us! You gave me the gift of compassion - taught me the value of relationships & made me the person I am today! I miss you each day & will always love you! Celebrating you today & always - Happy Birthday” followed by a heart emoticon.
