Riddhima Kapoor Sahni Misses Dad, Rishi Kapoor On His Birth Anniversary, Shares, 'Raha Is Mini You'

Rishi Kapoor was among the leading superstars of the 80s and 90s. He married Neetu Singh in 1980 and welcomed two children, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, with her. Unfortunately, Rishi Kapoor passed away in 2020 after battling a prolonged fight with cancer. Two years after his demise, his son, Ranbir, tied the knot with Alia Bhatt, and the duo was blessed with their first child, Raha, in the same year.

Riddhima Kapoor's heartfelt birthday post for Rishi Kapoor

On September 4, 2024, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni took to her Instagram stories to mark her late father, Rishi Kapoor's birthday. She shared a throwback picture of her dad, in which he can be seen cutting his birthday cake with his granddaughter, Samara. Alongside the photo, the jewellery designer penned a heartwarming note and mentioned that she misses him a lot. Riddhima wrote:

"Happy Birthday Papa (followed by a red heart emoji). Papa I will always cherish the memories we got to share. We miss you so much and our love for you only deepens with each passing day."

Riddhima Kapoor pens Raha resembles Rishi Kapoor

Further in the caption, Riddhima pointed out that Rishi Kapoor's granddaughter, Raha, resembles him. She also referred to her daughter, Samara, as 'bandari', which Rishi used to call his granddaughter fondly and mentioned that she is all grown up. Riddhima added:

"How I wish u were here celebrating your special day with both your grand daughters. Your bandari Sam is all grown up and baby Raha is the cutest-she is mini you."

During a one-on-one conversation with Anushka Arora, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni talked about the little addition to their family, Raha, and tagged her as “my strawberry”. She also shared that Raha calls her “Boo.” Riddhima discussed Raha’s resemblance to her parents, Alia and Ranbir, and added that the little one looks similar to everyone in the family. Moreover, she revealed that Raha is a mixture of Alia and her late father, Rishi Kapoor.

Riddhima Kapoor recalled the last memory of her father, Rishi Kapoor

Earlier, in an interview with Galatta India, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni opened up about her father, Rishi Kapoor and his tragic demise. She recalled the last memory of her father and shared that the latter had called her two days before his death, but she missed his call. However, she revealed that she still regrets it, as after that, her dad couldn't respond or talk to anyone because he was in the hospital. Riddhima also added that she took a screenshot of the call log as it was the last time he called her. She revealed that she still has the screenshot on her phone as it was Rishi Kapoor's last missed call to her.
