Rimi Sen was one of the leading actresses in the 2000s who featured in several successful films like Dhoom, Golmaal, Garam Masala, and Phir Hera Pheri. She came from a simple family and made a career in acting to become financially stable. However, after a string of flops, the actress disappeared from the showbiz scene. A few days ago, the Rimi alleged that she lost Rs. 4 crore to a con man, finding herself in the middle of a legal case. Recently, she sat down for an interview with the ETimes and revealed the deets from the case and the reason for her disappearance from the industry.
Rimi Sen initially starred in several successful Bollywood films alongside famous stars. However, her career hit a rock after several flops, and she disappeared from films. Now, Rimi revealed that she was tired of being typecast in comedy films where she didn't have any significant role. Rimi said:
"Main comedy films kar kar ke thak gayi thi, there used to be not much of a role for me there. Mera sirf furniture role hota tha. I had a good role in only a few, like Hungama and Johnny Gaddaar (2007)The latter didn't work, and that's the kind of work I wanted to do."

In her earlier statement, Rimi said she did not enjoy the frame. Her life had become monotonous while working in the industry. At the same time, she didn't enjoy the attention she received as an actress, and that continues to date. Rimi added that she prefers being aloof. In her stint on reality TV show, Bigg Boss in 2015, the actress had shared that she wasn't much of a talkative person and preferred staying quiet.
When Rimi starred in several successful films, she worked alongside some of the leading actors in the Industry. Rimi shared the screen space with Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn among others. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, she was asked if she had been in contact with any of the actors she worked with while being away from the big screen. However, the actress admitted that she is not in contact with anyone from Bollywood. In her words:
"I am not. I can't ask anyone for help. Jab tak gidgidao nahin, help nahin milti hai. Why won't other people look for their own benefit? Why will someone go out of their way to help someone?"
Recently, several celebrities like Ameesha Patel have opened up about how she got replaced in a successful film or how the screen time of their character is reduced. Sharing her experience, the Hungama actress shared that the stakes are high in the industry, and knowing how to handle people is more critical than talent. Rimi added that she doesn't know how to do PR.

Rimi Sen is fighting a legal case against a con man who defrauded her of Rs. 4 crore. Sharing the details, Rimi revealed that the person pretended to be a wealthy businessman and took money from her in 2020. He had promised to return it with high interest and made excuses later. The Dhoom actress added that a charge sheet will soon be filed in the case.
