The legendary couple, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh’s marriage is a classic example of what successful nuptial looks like. 38 years of togetherness and their love for each other is as fresh as a blooming flower!
Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor have been in the United States since September 2018 for his medical treatment. Neetu ji has been, what we call, Rishi’s ‘constant’ all throughout this on-going medical journey and has been with him as a pillar of strength. We all know that Rishi Kapoor is inherently jovial by nature, which is why he has taken his stay in New York in a right spirit, calling it “an extended holiday”. Of late, in an interaction with the Mid-Day, Rishi ji shared how Neetu ji proved to be his rock during the cancer treatment in the New York. Rishi Kapoor quipped, “I have learnt to remain calm with my family and fans. I owe it to them; they have given me so much love and sent good wishes. Neetu has been my rock and has shouldered all the responsibilities. So, has been my family, who would drop in to give me the strength to battle my illness.”
As we all know that Rishi Kapoor is a big foodie, he also expressed his feelings on missing pomfret fry and homemade chapattis. In his own words, “I miss eating pomfret; it’s not available here. I also miss the soft homemade chapatis. You get all sorts of naan and rotis, but those soft chapatis made of chakki ka atta are something else!” Also, sharing his hopes of being back home to participate in Ganesh Chaturthi puja, the legendary actor remarked, “Celebrating Ganpati is a family tradition. During his treatment stay in New York, Rishi Kapoor revealed that he has received so much warmth from all industry friends as well as his fans. A galaxy of stars right from Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh, Kapil Dev, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani to Deepika Padukone and many others have paid their heartfelt visit to an ailing Rishi in order to wish for his health in person. In fact, Neetu ji has been sharing the pictures of all their friends and family, who have been visiting them in New York.

Similarly, Rishi Kapoor has also been bagging love from his fans for fighting with the Big C in a good spirit. Recalling a certain incident when he had gone to a restaurant where the waiters were from Bangladesh, he had shared, “Once I was at a restaurant, which had several Bangladeshi waiters. Each of them came and greeted me. One of the American staff members thought I was an ex waiter there, which is why the staff was talking to me. They were so embarrassed, but I laughed all the way back home. It was in September 2018, when Rishi Kapoor had left for the US for his cancer treatment. Informing about his short leave of absence to all his fans, he had tweeted, “Hello all! I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years “plus” of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!”
Coming back to Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh's marriage, they too had their own share of ups and downs. Once in a media interaction, Neetu was quoted as saying, “There always comes a phase in a couple's life when there would be friction, disagreements. Rishi and I also went through that stage. It was just one of those problems, which only the husband and wife would understand. Fortunately, we were able to sort out our differences.
