Musical artist, model, and actor, Rohman Shawl recently made his acting debut in the Tamil action film, Amaran (2024). It is an exciting period for the budding actor as he is being showered with love and appreciation for his convincing portrayal of the film's antagonist. As Rohman came to terms with his overwhelming emotions, he got candid about his journey in showbiz. The actor also addressed his high-profile relationship with actress, Sushmita Sen and talked about how the heart attack she suffered earlier impacted him.
Sushmita Sen suffered a major heart attack in February 2023. Not only did the incident change the Main Hoon Na star's life, but it also significantly impacted her ex-beau and good friend, Rohman Shawl. The model-actor was a constant support to the former Miss Universe during this trying time, but he revealed feeling 'numb' when the news first reached him. Rohman told the Hindustan Times:
"When something like that happens, the first thing is you're just numb because you don't know what just hit you. But then the person who is going through it, also matters a lot, because of how they take it. And she took it so well. We didn't even realize that something that grave has happened. That's the beauty of that person."
Rohman further confessed that he had never taken his health seriously before. However, seeing someone he loved go through something so serious had made him introspect. Now, Rohman prioritises his health, getting regular check-ups for himself and his loved ones.
In the candid chat with the Hindustan Times, Rohman Shawl was asked when the difficult situation following Sushmita Sen's heart attack strengthened his bond with her daughters, Renee and Alisah. He revealed:
"It's all give and take as she has been a source of strength to all of us. Obviously, the kids are always there and mujhse bhi jitna banta hai main kar deta hun. But mujhe nahi lagta main aisa kuch karta hun. But the kids, they're amazing and I'm actually fortunate that I could witness relationships like these. It helps you become a better human in life."
Despite being a supermodel, Rohman Shawl's real rise to fame came after his romantic involvement with Sushmita Sen became public. The actor revealed that he hadn't cared about the fame back then, because he knew it wasn't because of him. Rohman said:

"All this never baffled me because I was a supermodel before, but I got this kind of limelight because of her. When I got this fame, I always knew it wasn't because of me. So, I never really cared about it. This love is for somebody else, and I must appreciate it, but it couldn't go to my head because people didn't know me yet. So, I always kept a distance from it because I knew this is not my thing to take, ye kisi aur ki mehnat pe hai, aur main uspe aish nahi karne wala."
Rohman Shawl has been in showbiz for quite a while as a supermodel, but he never had any acting aspirations. The actor revealed that he was offered a film in 2016, only to get a call later saying the changes were being made to the script. After not receiving any updates for some time, Rohman understood that they no longer wanted him. This incident was a huge shock to him, and he made up his mind to never become an actor.
However, Rohman was later offered a short film that changed his perspective. Soon after, he met with Amaran director, Rajkumar Periasamy, and the latter's belief in the actor as an antagonist inspired him to try acting. Rohman revealed that Amaran's shoot was also delayed by two years, which meant he had to decline other projects during that period. However, the acting actor was convinced the film would do wonders for him, and that's exactly what happened.
