Rupali Ganguly is currently recognised mostly by her on-screen character, ‘Anupama’, that has won several hearts of television lovers. The gorgeous actress, who has mesmerised everyone with her performance, has been one of the finest television divas who never fails to leave her fans impressed with her looks and personality. While her professional feat needs no introduction, it is her personal life which stays far aloof from the limelight. In a recent interaction, Rupali revealed several anecdotes from her real-life love story with hubby, Ashwin.
In a recent interaction with ETimes, Rupali Ganguly walked down the memory lane and talked about the first time that she crossed paths with her husband, Ashwin K Verma. The actress remembered being present for a commercial shoot for an advertisement. Rupali remarked that Ashwin’s first impressions of her was a ‘mad Bengali woman’ who left her work. The diva narrated:
“He came here to make an advertisement. From 100-15o pictures, he saw my picture and said she’s Bengali, she is mad. She left her work. I had left work at that time. I left work because I was in catering college. I did a dissolution from the film industry and then I joined catering college because I was very young.”

Talking more about her personal life, Rupali Ganguly then revealed how her husband came to notice her for the first time when she was all but dressed up in the look of a 60-year-old woman. She still wore the prosthetics of white hair for that particular role, and that was when Ashwin ended up making an unusual remark about her. Adding how they never had any specific ‘I Love You’ moment from hereon, Rupali said:
“And then I was dressed up as a 60-year-old, as a wife. Suddenly, when I came out as a 60-year-old with white hair and everything, the first line Ashwin said was I wouldn’t mind getting old with someone like you. There was never ‘I Love You’. We directly got married.”
Well, after her marriage with Ashwin K Verma, Rupali Ganguly decided to step down from her profession as an actress and decided to build a home with her husband and son, Rudransh. However, such a decision wasn’t easy, as she had put at stake a career which was at its peak. Previously, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Rupali remarked how she was out of work for almost 6.5 months, dedicating herself completely to the role of a homemaker.

Fast forward to now, Rupali Ganguly is one of the most sought-after celebs in Telly world, and she has been able to strike a perfect balance between her personal life and profession. However, this wouldn’t have been possible without the relentless support she got from her husband, Ashwin, who duly filled in the gaps whenever she wasn’t able to do so. Talking more along the same lines in the interview, Rupali said:
“My husband does everything. From cooking to everything, and today he is the homemaker and I am very proud of the fact that he is the homemaker. So blessed am I.”
