The ongoing dispute between Rupali Ganguly and her stepdaughter, Esha Verma, has taken an unexpected turn. The actress has filed a Rs. 50 crore defamation case against Esha, a move that has surprised many. Rupali is now facing criticism for her actions. Meanwhile, Esha has responded by making her IG private and removing all posts related to her dad and step-mom. Rupali's lawyer, Sana Raees Khan, now revealed how affected the actress was after the accusations and what led her to file the defamation lawsuit.
In a conversation with News 18, Sana Raees Khan revealed that Rupali Ganguly was in a lot of emotional distress when her stepdaughter, Esha Verma, falsely accused her. He suffered extreme mental anguish and emotional distress. However, this was not the sole reason why she slapped Esha with the defamation lawsuit.

Sana shared that Rupali had enough of Esha when the latter brought her 11-year-old son into the chaos. For the unversed, Esha called Rupali's son, Rudransh, illegitimate as allegedly he was born out of wedlock when Ashein was already married to Esha's mother, Sapna. Sana further added:
"It was imperative (to send notice), in view of the fact that she was constantly posting defamatory and baseless posts, thereby attacking Rupali’s reputation and character. She crossed all limits by attacking an 11-year-old child and terming him illegitimate. The false and malicious allegations made by the stepdaughter caused immense emotional distress and mental anguish to my client. These malicious and baseless accusations not only attacked her personal integrity but also tarnished her reputation. Such baseless claims have left her deeply hurt."
Sana added that Esha has not yet responded to the defamation case. Although she has deleted all the defamatory posts from her account, she has not acknowledged the legal notice. Sana Raees Khan further added:
“She (Esha Verma) hasn’t responded. However, she has deleted all defamatory posts and deleted one account pursuant to receiving our notice, which is an acknowledgement of her wrongdoing. Rupali decided to take this drastic step when her stepdaughter maliciously labelled her 11-year-old child as illegitimate and the matter escalated with continuous and constant defamatory and derogatory posts thereby character assassinating Rupali."
As per a report by News18, Rupali Ganguly's step-daughter, Esha Verma, took to her IG handle and shared a video message to interact with her fans. She, in the video message, thanked everyone who extended their support to her. Esha further revealed that she decided to go private for a bit for her own sake and added that she's moving forward. "Hi everybody. It’s Esha here and I just want to say thank you all for being so kind and supportive and sweet. It means the world to me. And I’m just going to be private for a little bit, just for my sake. And we’re just moving forward from here."
In the same video message, Esha Verma further mentioned that as she, along with her family, is in America, they are a bit more protected, as things are different there. She also added that she's proud of the community she's building and thanked her supporters. Esha said that she wouldn't even mind to block anyone, who would try to be negative. Calling her supporters incredible, Esha said:
"And just to remind everybody, I’m in America, so things are a little bit different here, and we’re more protected. And whatever it is, I just want to say this community we’re building is so beautiful and I’ve been looking at everyone’s profiles. There’s so much great energy. And if you’re going to be negative, I’m just gonna block you or take you off, just letting you know. But sending so much love. You guys should be so proud of yourselves. You are incredible."
