Rupali Ganguly is currently the talk of the town as TV's leading actress with her massively popular show, Anupamaa . The actress, who started playing the role of the titular character nearly four years ago, has won the hearts of viewers and accumulated a huge fan following. However, Rupali went through a tumultuous period recently when she was facing serious allegations from her stepdaughter, Esha Verma. The latter accused Rupali of ruining her parents' marriage, stealing from her mother, body-shaming her, and much more. Esha has gone silent since Rupali slammed her with a Rs. 50 crore defamation case, and it looks like the actress is trying to move on as well now. Recently, she was seen talking about how audiences forget to differentiate between a character and an actor on a YouTube channel.
Rupali Ganguly recently appeared on the Directors Kut Production's YouTube channel for the TV actress' round table 2024. The actress was accompanied by other small screen stars like Shivangi Joshi, Anita Raj, Reem Shaikh, and Samriddhi Shukla, while Ishika Shahi, Rajan Shahi's daughter, acted as the host.

During the same, Rupali Ganguly spoke up about the audiences' tendency to sometimes forget the difference between an actor and the character they were playing. Rupali further revealed that this opinion of hers was based on personal experiences, which have been both good and bad.
Rupali Ganguly recalled an incident that took place when she was playing 'Dr. Simran Chopra', the villain in the medical drama series, Sanjivani: A Medical Boon . She revealed that when she had been going to a market with her co-star and the show lead, Gurdeep Kohli, they were approached by a woman. The lady apparently took Gurdeep aside and advised him to stay away from Rupali. Not only that, she even called the actress' kam*n*' later on.
Rupali further revealed that the incident made her feel so bad that she ended up crying that day. That was the first time she realised that audiences really couldn't understand that an actor was separate from the roles they played on screen.
