Russian Bahu Tweets About Dowry And Torture From Her In Laws, Ministers Swing Into Action

“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”

This beautifully goes with Olga Efimenkova, a Russian woman who went on an indefinite hunger strike when her mother-in-law kicked her and her husband out of the house after she failed to fulfil her dowry demands. The victim who speaks fluent Hindi decided to protest against her mother-in-law right at the entrance of the house.

In her complaint, Olga stated that her mother-in-law, Nirmala Chandel mentally harassed her for not bringing in much dowry and hence, refused to let them stay in her house.

“My mother-in-law mentally tortures me for being a foreigner and pressures me for dowry. She has kicked me out of the home along with my daughter and my husband.”

Olga’s husband, Vikrant said that his mother gave his share of property to his elder sister Saumya Pal who resides in New Delhi.

Unfortunately, even the police did not offer much help until her story caught the attention of Union Minister for External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, who then shared the victim’s story on Twitter, requesting UP's Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to help her out.

Within hours, the police got to work and Mr. Yadav on the other hand, replied promptly:

While Olga shared this with the media:

"I am from Russia and I got married to Vikrant Singh Chandel here in Agra in 2011. My problem is that my mother-in-law has thrown us out of the house and we have no other place to go. So now I am sitting here with my daughter at the gate of the house, as she (mother-in-law) is not letting me go inside."

The victim, Olga Efimenkova is from Russia and married Vikrant Singh Chandel in 2011 and has a 3-year-old named Dasaha. The couple along with their child had been living in Goa where the victim’s husband had a restaurant. Having incurred losses in the business, they moved back to Agra, which is Vikrant’s hometown, which subsequently led to this property dispute.

However, Olga's mother-in-law has a completely different say on the matter. According to her, her son and daughter-in-law indulge in gambling and consume drugs and plus she has also given them her savings. And so, she decided leave the house for her daughter, which is the only thing she has.

Everyone seems to have a statement, a justification or let's say, their side of the story and we are not sure what is true. But keeping all of this aside, Mr. Yadav did what he was supposed to.

And as Mr. Yadav promised, he tweeted along with this picture: @SushmaSwaraj @yadavakhilesh the lady has been united with the family after counselling the in-laws.
