Hailed as the King of the bridal world, ace designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee needs no introduction. With intricate detailing to various traditional patterns, Sabyasachi gives life to any attire. From Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt, all these celeb brides had sworn by Sabyasachi for their bridal trousseau.
The powerhouse designer recently launched his latest collection, Heritage Bridal 2023. However, netizens were not quite impressed with Sabyasachi’s latest collection. Some thought it was monotonous, and the designer needed to think fresh. Some called out the designer for his choice of oversized models, some stated that the recent collection is a repost of actresses Deepika and Katrina’s bridal outfits. One of the social media users wrote, “I absolutely hate this. It's not just boring, it's cringy in its choice of the unrealistic-Thakur-Bahu-in-stupid-Bollywood-movies aesthetic.”
While many netizens called out Sabyasachi for his repetitive designs and patterns, a section of netizens trolled the designer for the grammatical blunder in one of his designs. In one of the pictures of the collections, Saubhagyavati Bhava was written in Sanskrit on the dupatta. However, the spelling was incorrect, and many netizens called out the error in Sanskrit spelling.
This is not the first time that Sabyasachi has become the victim of trolling. In January 2022, when Television actress, Mouni Roy got married, she donned a Sabyasachi lehenga for her Bengali wedding. Sabyasachi posted an array of pictures of Mouni from his bridal collection. However, netizens trolled the designer for his repetitive designs. Some called him 'lazy', and others claimed that he had zero innovation left.
