Sahara's Subrata Roy Helped Aamir Ali Retain Cabin Crew Job During Modeling Days, 'He Didn't Let Me'

Aamir Ali, a well-known television actor, began his career in modelling, before entering the acting world. The actor once shared that he worked as a cabin crew member prior to his journey in the glamour industry. He recently sat down for an interview with ABP Live and recalled his exciting interactions with the late owner of Sahara India Parivar, Subrata Roy.

Subrata Roy insisted Aamir not to quit his job until he made a mark in the showbiz

Aamir Ali revealed that 'Sahara Shri' Subrata Roy was a larger-than-life businessman. The latter used to playfully smack him on the face whenever they met. At the same time, the businessman gave him all the required permissions to take leaves when he wanted to pursue modelling. However, Subrata Roy didn't let Aamir quit his job permanently until he made a mark in the entertainment world. Aamir was quoted as saying:

"When I started getting ads, I took a break from my day job. Then, I met sir again on a flight. He praised me, and said that I was doing very well. I thanked him, and told him that I was thinking of quitting and pursuing my modelling career full-time. He didn't allow me to quit. To this day, I'm probably an employee."

As the film industry is an unstable world, Subrata supported Aamir until he managed to earn a decent amount. At the same time, he signed a paper mentioning that Aamir would be given leave for as many days as he wanted to pursue modelling. Aamir revealed that he hadn't claimed his gratuity due to his love for them, as they tried to ensure he kept earning. However, he asked the company to stop giving him a salary when he began getting films.

Aamir Ali revealed how Subrata Roy was a good and helpful force in his life who supported him as he worked on establishing his identity. During his interactions with Subrata, Aamir got some important lessons from the late businessman. Recalling the lessons he learned, Aamir said:

"I still value one of his biggest teachings: Kaal, sthaan, patra; time, place, and what you speak. This is what defines you as a person."

Aamir Ali began his career in showbiz with modelling and commercials. His first commercial break was an ad for Bajaj Scooters. He also appeared in advertising campaigns for Aptech Computers, Maruti Zen, Ponds talc, Nescafe, Mahindra Rodeo, Chevrolet, BSNL, Videocon D2H, and more. He worked in films like Khamosh Pani, I Hate Luv Storys, Raakh and Faraaz.
