'Dabangg 3' Star Saiee Manjrekar Shares She Was Criticised For The Movie, Mentions Her 'Dark Phase'

'Dabangg 3' Star Saiee Manjrekar Shares She Was Criticised For The Movie, Mentions Her 'Dark Phase'

Saiee Manjrekar, daughter of actors, Mahesh Manjrekar and Medha Manjrekar, is an Indian actress known for working in Hindi and Telugu films. After getting launched in the Hindi film industry with Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3 in 2019, the actress gained fame and popularity from her Telugu films like Ghani, Major, and Skanda. Not only her film opposite Salman Khan witnessed a poor box-office collection, but the actress was also criticised for pairing opposite the 54-year-old actor. Saiee revealed the same in a recent interview.

Saiee Manjrekar opened up about the criticism she received for Dabangg 3

In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, actress, Saiee Manjrekar, talked about the negative criticism she received from everyone after her debut movie, Dabangg 3, was released. For the uninitiated, the actress was just 17 years old when she starred alongside Salman Khan in the film. This age gap and the romantic partnership between the stars in the movie fuelled many negative remarks. Talking about how she felt about the criticisms, the actress said she was just happy to see herself on the big screen.

Saiee further said that as she was new to the industry, she had no PR or marketing team to inform her about the trolling. She stated that she learnt about the criticisms much later, when she was active on social media. However, she was working on another project at that time and didn’t pay heed to the comments. Saiee added that her career and personal life were at a different phase back then, so things didn’t affect her. To quote her:

“I am a very thick-skinned person and things don’t affect me very fast. I have always been like that.”

Saiee Manjrekar mentioned her lowest phase of life

During the interview, Saiee was also asked about the lowest phase of her career after she entered the industry. In reply, she mentioned how she self-contemplated on her journey as an actress during the Covid-19 lockdown period. Saiee explained how she used to sit idle and felt that she has achieved nothing, while her friends were all working or pursuing a major.

The daughter of the famous actors further revealed that she chose to pursue acting instead of getting a college degree. She also tried to converse with her family members but sitting idle for months and not being able to work on her next projects is what the actress called her ‘dark phase’ of life. However, she recently starred in another Bollywood film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, alongside Ajay Devgn and Tabu.
