Yes, as you all might have already guessed it right, we are talking about the newly-wed couple and ace badminton players of the century, Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap. Saina and Parupalli became each other’s forever in a private wedding ceremony on December 14, 2018. The ace badminton player shared a beautiful ‘just married’ picture on her social media handle and captioned the same as, “Best match of my life #justmarried.” Both Saina and Parupalli kept it minimal yet gorgeous in their apparel and makeup and looked beautiful! And today, (December 16, 2018), Saina and Parupalli are hosting a wedding reception and they look gorgeous, twinning in blue and wearing exquisite jewellery for their do. Do you know, the couple’s wedding jewellery is super unique? Why and How? Sharing two beautiful pictures of the couple, their designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee explained, “Saina Nehwal @nehwalsaina in a rich indigo velvet lehenga, intricately embroidered with zardosi, appliqué, pearls and crystals, for her wedding reception. Her look is accessorised with a wedding set crafted with Burmese rubies, uncut diamonds and emeralds from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection.”
He further added, “Her groom, Parupalli Kashyap (@parupallikashyap), wears a quilted indigo sherwani in hand-dyed Murshidabad silk that is accessorized with hand-crafted Bengal tiger buttons. The sherwani is layered with a beautiful tussar georgette shawl with antique ‘tilla’ borders in burnt gold. The look is completed with an uncut diamond and pearl necklace from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection. @sabyasachijewelry.”

Don’t they look amazing? With rumours doing the rounds about their wedding for quite a while, a source had informed about Saina- Parupalli’s wedding to The Times of India and stated, “Both families had been planning the wedding for a while now. Now they have finalised the date. The arrangements are all for December 16.” Further speaking about choosing a specific date, Saina had shared, “ I will get busy with the Premier Badminton League from December 20 and then qualifiers for the Tokyo Games will begin. In an interview with TOI, Saina had not only confirmed her wedding but also shared tonnes of details on the same. The Padma Shri awardee badminton player had then stated, “We started travelling for bigger tours from 2007-08 onwards. We played tournaments together, trained together and slowly, started paying more attention to each other's matches.” And further added, “In the competitive world that we live in, it is difficult to get close to someone. But somehow we both found it very easy to talk to each other, talk about our matches. The feeling gradually grew.”
Publicly acknowledging their relationship for the first time, Saina had earlier revealed, “We didn't think about marriage before. The career that we pursue is very demanding. It is very important to win tournaments and we didn't want to shift our focus by getting married earlier.” She added, “A player needs treatment and attention just like a baby. At home, I get everything without asking, but this will change once I get married. I will be equally responsible for doing things on my own.”
Her thoughts prior to her wedding? Saina had revealed in an interview sometime back, “I didn't want to rush things before the CWG and Asian Games. But now, we think we are ready for it and can manage things on our own.” Also, do you guys something? Saina did not even had to tell her parents about her marriage because it was so obvious for them! Speaking about the same in the interview, Saina revealed, “Bolne ki zaroorat nahi padi (I didn't have to tell them). We used to be together most of the time and my parents also travelled with me, so they understood who I was close to and comfortable with even after my losses.” (Also Checkout!
