'The First Khan' and 'The Tragedy King', late Mohammed Yusuf Khan, a.k.a, Dilip Kumar, had breathed his last on July 7, 2021, at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital. At the age of 98, the actor passed away due to prolonged illness. The heart-breaking news saddened the entire Indian cinema, and soon his residence was packed with elite celebrities of the entertainment industry.
Dilip Kumar had shared a beautiful bond with Shah Rukh Khan, and soon after the news of his demise, King Khan had wasted no time in visiting his residence. The pictures of Shah Rukh consoling Saira Banu are doing rounds on the internet since then, and it shows everything about their concrete bond.

In 2017, during an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Saira Banu had recalled the exact moment when she had met Shah Rukh Khan for the first time in her life. The iconic actress had stated that it was during the mahurat ceremony of Bollywood's Dream Girl, Hema Malini's directorial debut film, Dil Aashna Hai. The film had starred Shah Rukh and gorgeous Divya Bharti in the lead roles. At that time, Saira Banu's husband, late Dilip Kumar, had given the ceremonial clap ahead of the film's first shot.
Going further in her interview, Saira Banu had highlighted the similarity between her husband, Dilip Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan. From the texture of their hair to their appearance, the two looked quite similar. Emphasising the same, Saira had said, "Dilip saab gave the ceremonial clap (Dil Aashna Hai). I have always said that if we had a son, he might have looked like Shah Rukh. Both he and saab are a lot alike and have similar hair, which is why I like to run my fingers through Shah Rukh Khan when we meet."

This isn't the first time when Saira Banu has heaped her immense love and care to Bollywood's King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan. For instance, in 2017 when Shah Rukh had made a surprise visit to Dilip Kumar's residence. Shah Rukh's special gesture had delighted Saira, and the iconic actress had posted a note, along with some pictures from her husband, Dilip saab's Twitter handle. In the tweet, Saira had written, "Message from Saira Banu: Sahab's mooh-bola beta-‘son' @iamsrk visited Sahab today. Sharing some photos of the evening. @iamsrk visited Sahab this evening."

Once during a media event in 2002, after the release of his film, Devdas, Shah Rukh Khan had revealed that his mother, Lateef Fatima Khan, used to say that he looks like Dilip Kumar. Recalling the same, Shah Rukh had said, "My mother also thought that I looked like Mr Dilip Kumar. But main sabko yahi bolta hoon ki unki duwa aur hope hoti hai par sacchai nahi hoti. Woh sirf maa hi keh sakti hai.”
