Known as the ‘Captain Cool’ worldwide and fans address him as Mahi, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a pragmatic leader and one of the most iconic sportsmen India has ever seen. This Jharkhand boy has left no stone unturned to lead Team India to great highs and his legacy will live on for generations to come. MSD is a name that’s etched in the history of cricket and this master of all trades is worshipped by millions because there’s no one as humble as him. And if there’s one person, who has been with Mahi through his highs and lows, it is none other than his wife, Sakshi Dhoni. Mahendra Singh Dhoni had met the love of his life, Sakshi Rawat in 2008, where the latter was interning at Taj Kolkata and the former was a guest. Sakshi and Dhoni had tied the knot on July 4, 2010, in Dehradun, with their family and a few close friends attending the ceremony. Sakshi is a perfect combination of beauty with brains and while Dhoni is known for his calm and composed demeanour, his wife doesn’t shy away from speaking her mind. Over the years, Sakshi has proved to be more than just a cricket WAG and has established herself as an independent woman and a stellar partner of Dhoni.

We have often seen inside glimpses of Sakshi Singh Dhoni and Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Ranchi farmhouse, which is on a 7-acre land with a huge lush green well-maintained garden. Now, Sakshi has posted glimpses of their new soon-to-be ready home on her IG stories and we are excited to see how it would turn out. The architectural designer, Shantanu Garg also posted a glimpse of the same on their official IG handle and wrote, “Final cast of my dream” tagging Sakshi and Dhoni on his post.
In 2020, Sakshi Singh Dhoni and Mahendra Singh Dhoni had completed a decade of their married life and to mark the same, the doting wife had posted an array of pictures with a long note about how their journey has been of 10 years. Sakshi had written, "Walking together for 10 years has been teamwork. Building space for each others growth has helped us mature. Being mad at each other, at times, made us come closer. Prioritising the matters in life, made us realise the importance of those! Playing fair by not pushing each other has made us stronger. Working together through the ups and downs, made us understand the magic of love! Celebrating this day by being grateful to our parents, siblings, relatives and friends. Missing our loving and caring friends who have been our strong support system at all times. Thank you to all the loving fans, without them the journey would be bland." Due to the lockdown, it was the first time in their 10-year marriage that Sakshi Singh Dhoni and Mahendra Singh Dhoni had spent some undivided time together. However, it didn’t yield any revelations about each other. Revealing the same, Sakshi had said in an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, “It’s been a decade since Mahi and I have been married, so we pretty much know everything about each other, and he is also my best friend.” Speaking about their pets, Sakshi had continued, “We discovered new things about our pets though. Their behavioural patterns and varied skills were heightened with us being around them constantly.”
The proud wife, Sakshi Singh Dhoni had also revealed the highlights of her husband’s career and the moments that will forever remain etched in her memory. Sakshi had remarked, “My most cherished moments of Mahi’s career include the day he was bestowed with the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel, when he received his Padma Bhushan and, of course, the World Cup win in 2011.
