One of the greatest names in the history of Indian cinema, a man of sheer brilliance and the one, who had introduced us to the magic of screenwriting like never before. The master, the myth, the legend, Salim Abdul Rashid Khan a.k.a., Salim Khan. There's hardly anyone in this country, who hasn't heard the name of the iconic duo, 'Salim-Javed (Javed Akhtar)'. The duo that had given us masterpieces like, Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, Zanjeer, Deewar, Kranti, Don, and the list goes on. Salim Khan is often regarded as the greatest screenwriter of all times in Indian cinema's history and has also engraved his status as an incredibly talented director and a writer far ahead of his time. Over the years, Salim Khan has blessed our soul with his words of wisdom in many interviews and talk shows, but his shayari on The Kapil Sharma Show was the best to date. The legendary writer had given a piece of advice to everyone and had said, "Aasuu aaye toh khud poochiyega, log poochne aayenge toh sauda karenge."
The legendary writer, Salim Khan has turned 85 today, and on his birthday we stumbled across some of his rare pictures with his son, Salman Khan from their younger days. In the pictures, the father-son duo looked mesmerisingly handsome in their respective outfits. While the doting son, Salman looked cute in his off-white shirt and grey trousers, it's undoubtedly his father, Salim Khan, who overshadowed him in his olive coloured denim shirt and blue denim. The pictures bring back all the golden memories of the past in front of our open eyes. Salim Khan shares a warm relationship with his children and, time and again, we had heard stories from his kids in their various interviews about their father's cool nature. For instance, in a throwback episode of Dus Ka Dum, Salman had asked a celebrity guest "How many percent of Indians are scolded by policemen for romancing in public?" And before the celebrity guest could answer the question, Salman had revealed that his father, Salim Khan preferred him spending some quality time with his girlfriends at home rather than public spaces. Going further in the same episode, Salman Khan had stated, "These couples are helpless as there are around 8-10 people in a small house. These youngsters cannot afford to book a hotel as society takes it in another way. My father gave me a clear-cut instruction when it came to girlfriends. He gave us permission to spend time at home rather than roaming around the city. The same instruction was applicable to my sisters, as well. If they have any good man in their life, they should first tell their parents and not hide anything from them. He has given us the right to take the decision on whom to marry and whom not to marry."
