Bollywood actor, Arbaaz Khan is back on-screen with his chat show, The Invincibles. And as the first episode was released on January 3, 2023, we get to see him indulging in a candid conversation with his daddy, Salim Khan. As per reports, Arbaaz would also interview many other celebrities from the golden age of Hindi cinema, including his stepmother, Helen, and others such as Javed Akhtar, Mahesh Bhatt and Waheeda Rehman. Now, in the show's first episode, we get to know many insights from the Actor, producer and director, Salim Khan's life, which was simply unmissable.
During the conversation with his son, Arbaaz Khan, Salim Khan shared that initially, he and his first wife, Salma Khan were dating secretly. For the unversed, before tying the knot in 1964, Salim and Salma had dated for more than five years. Thus, as times then were, they had kept their courtship a secret. However, he later insisted on meeting Salma's parents since he wasn't comfortable keeping their relationship a secret. Salim also revealed that he didn't feel good about lying to her family while meeting her. So, Salim had lovingly mentioned to his then-girlfriend that he would like to meet her parents.

In the same conversation with Arbaaz Khan, Salim shared that afterwards, when he had visited his in-laws, he felt something extremely shocking. He revealed that there were so many people who had assembled to see him, he felt like the country's all Maharashtrians were present at that moment. Moreover, he jokingly added that for him, the feeling was no less than that of a new animal in a zoo. In his words:
"When I went to meet them, I felt all the country's Maharashtrians had assembled in one place. There were so many people. I have never been as nervous as I was then. Everyone had come to see me, like I was a new animal in the zoo."

Further, Salim Khan talked about his Hindu father-in-law's objections to his religion. He mentioned that while many were in his favour from Salma's family. However, his father-in-law had said, "We have enquired about you. You are educated and from a good family. You don't get good boys these days. Magar religion acceptable nahin hai." To this, the critically-acclaimed director assured him that even though he and his wife may have thousands of problems but religion would never come between them.
Talking about the love he received from Salma Khan's family, Salim Khan also mentioned the name her grandmother used to call him fondly. Arbaaz Khan too mentioned that originally his mother's name was Sushila, which she had changed after marriage to his father, Salim. The director-cum-producer mentioned that his first wife's grandmother used to call him 'Shankhan', and this is how his name was changed. Salim Khan shared:
"Her grandmother, who was called Ajji, she was the only person in the family who was in support of me. She used to wait and say, when will my Shankar come?"
