On September 12, 2024, Salman Khan was spotted exiting Malaika Arora's house as he came to support her in the testing times. He was shocked to see his fans gathered outside the apartment and calling pout his name. They were clicking his pictures and cheering for him. Though Salman was visibly upset by all this, he didn't react. However, the look on his face proved that he was clearly pissed off.

They also slammed the actor's fans for behaving like hooligans outside Malaika Arora's home. Reacting to the video, a user penned, "I can’t believe I’m witnessing this level of crazy! This is stupidity on steroids! People are hitting new lows every day." Another commented, "The joblessness of this public that they don’t spare someone’s funeral as long as they get to see their stars. That hooting is next level hooliganism."

Salman Khan did not make it to Malaika Arora's house or the funeral to pay his last respects to Anil Mehta. While the reason behind his absence is yet to be confirmed, it was reported that the actor was not in the city. If reports are to be believed, Salman is busy shooting for his upcoming film, Sikander, with Rashmika Mandanna. Owing to his professional commitments, Salman chose to skip Malaika's dad's funeral.

The picture featured Anil Mehta's photo in the bottom left corner, along with a note that informed about his passing. In the note, Malaika called him a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and their best friend. Adding that their family is in deep shock, Malaika requested privacy in these difficult times. Her note could be read as:

"We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by the loss, and we  kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult times. We appreciate your understanding, support and respect."
