Recently, at the IIFA Awards, Salman Khan was asked by the show's host, Maniesh Paul about one memorable incident in his life. To this, Salman got emotional as he went down into his memory lane and recalled the time when he used to struggle in the entertainment industry. Talking about the same, he mentioned that after his hit film, Maine Pyar Kiya, his co-star, Bhagyashree allegedly took all the credits. He also added that since she didn't want to work anymore, as she was getting married to Himalaya Dassani, she left working post her debut film. Following this, Salman mentioned that he was then left with no work for the next six months, and that's when filmmaker, Ramesh Taurani had saved his career. Salman shared:
"After Maine Pyar Kiya released, Bhagyashree decided she didn't want to work anymore, because she wanted to get married. Aur wo pura credit leke chali gayi. For six months, I had no movie. And that's when a 'devta saman aadmi' , Ramesh Taurani, entered my life. My father at that point of time paid 2000 rupees and coaxed producer GP Sippy to make a fake announcement in a film industry magazine that he had signed me for a film. GP did that but there was no picture. But Ramesh Taurani went to Sippy's office and paid Rs. 5 lakh for the music of the film. It was because of those Rs. 5 lakhs that I finally got a film called Patthar Ke Phool (1991). Thank you!"
Earlier, in one of the episodes of the popular comedy show, Zee Comedy Show, Bhagyashree had revealed some unheard facts about her acting career in Bollywood. The actress had recalled the time when she had started crying after knowing that she had to hug Salman Khan in one of the scenes of their film, Maine Pyar Kiya. "I was just 18 years old and thought I was in love at that time and going to get married, I had never even hugged a guy till then. So, I got worried, and I started crying after hearing that I will have to hug Salman during a song sequence in Maine Pyar Kiya. Later when Salman said 'Please do it.' I couldn't say no and that's how I finally got convinced to do that hug-sequence.""
