While his professional life has only seen huge successes, it is his personal life that has been a bouncy ride. From failed relationships to heartbreaks, Salman had dealt with a lot of emotions and it has only made him stronger and given him a new perspective in life. In the midst of it all, the actor has successfully dodged 'tying the knot' and the questions surrounding his private life. But did you know that in the year 1999, he was all set to take the plunge and get married?
Recently, Salman Khan's friend and veteran producer, Sajid Nadiadwala was invited on The Kapil Sharma Show, wherein he spilt the beans on the actor's secret. The producer has also revealed that Salman had even tried to dissuade him from tying the knot as well at his wedding. He said, "After changing his mind, he came on stage during my marriage and whispered in my ears. ‘There is a car outside, take it and run away.’" We had heard of wedding jitters but the way Salman reacted to it, is definitely hilarious.
If you are wondering who the girl was? In a throwback interview with the Stardust magazine, Salman had confessed his feelings of marrying actress, Sangeeta Bijlani and had shared that he will marry her. In one of his interviews with The Times of India, Salman had shared that he is not a marriage kind. He had said, "First, I wanted to get married. Nahi hua and one by one everyone started getting married. One day Sanjay Dutt almost got me convinced about marriage. He said, ‘See, my ex-wife died. I really miss her. I have a beautiful child and she is with in-laws. I felt alone and got married to Rhea. I am saying this to you, as I want you to get married. I want you to settle down and be happy. While he was talking to me, Rhea called. He said, f***. And I realised that all he told me was rubbish."
However, in the same interview with The Times Of India, Salman had shared his desire of having babies. He had said, "I do want to have a child, but with child, the mother comes. And when the mother comes, big complications happen as I am not the husband material. I am the father type. It will be unfair for anyone to think that I will change him. I will not change. I sometimes feel surrogate type ka ho jaye, but then look how close we are to our mothers so when the kid grows up, he or she will ask maa kaun? They will then think that my father for his own selfish reasons has kept us without a mother. And then my parents too would like to see my children. So, it’s all very complex."
