Salman Khan's House Firing: One Of The Accused In The Case Found Dead In Mumbai Police's Custody

According to the latest reports, Anuj Thapan, who was accused to have supplied arms for attacking Salman Khan's Mumbai residence was found dead in police custody.

Salman Khan's House Firing: One Of The Accused In The Case Found Dead In Mumbai Police's Custody

Salman Khan recently became a victim of major safety scare, as two assailants fired three rounds of bullets at his Mumbai home, Galaxy Apartments on April 14, 2024. While everybody remained unharmed, the attack was later accepted to be planned by Lawrence Bishnoi, on whose hitlist Salman has been for long, especially due to the actor’s involvement in the infamous black buck case. Moreover, on April 26, 2024, the investigating team for the attack arrested the two accused shooters from Punjab.

According to a recent report by the Hindustan Times, one of the accused shooter in Salman Khan’s house firing incident, Anuj Thapan has been found dead in Mumbai Police’s custody. Preliminary reports suggest that the accused attempted a suicide inside the lockup. Moreover, after taking such a drastic step, he was rushed to the hospital by the Mumbai Police crime branch, where he was announced brought dead on arrival.

Anuj Thapan and his accomplice, Sonu Subhash Chander were arrested for supplying guns

Anuj Thapan and Sonu Subhash Chander were two accused who got arrested in Punjab, for allegedly supplying guns to the shooters who attacked Salman Khan’s residence. After Anuj’s suicide, the senior police officer, PK Jain, in an interview with NDTV, divulged what could have actually happened and stated:

“All the policemen in the police station will be questioned by the CID (criminal investigation department). There have been cases when people have died by suicide with a noose made from pajamas inside lock-ups... A policeman always guards the lock-up to ensure inmates don't escape, and also to keep an eye on suicide attempts.”

Salman Khan avoid discussing his wellbeing post shooting attack on his home

Right after such a terrifying incident, Salman Khan, surrounded by a heavy entourage of security personnel and bodyguards, jumped back to work, and attended an event in Dubai. In one of the videos which has gone viral from his visit, the actor seems to avoid a journalist’s question, when the former asked him about his well-being post the firing incident. He simply shrugged away the question and said:

“Ho gaya ho gaya.”

Arbaaz Khan penned official note on behalf of the Khan family post firing incident

Soon after the news of Salman Khan’s home being attacked by shooters went viral, internet was filled with tons of news, citing how different family members of the Khan family, including Salman himself and his father, Salim Khan, have reacted to the scary incident. However, it was later, when Arbaaz Khan issued a formal note and clarified how previous reports and spokespersons claiming them to be unaffected with the attack were baseless. On the contrary, Arbaaz clarified that every person of the Khan family was deeply shook by the incident, and thanked everyone for their prayers and well-wishes.
