Back on October 29, 2023, Samantha Ruth Prabhu had taken to her IG handle and announced being diagnosed with the auto-immune condition of Myositis. She dropped a picture of herself from the hospital, where she could be seen getting treated, while dubbing for her film, Yashodha. Along with it, she had penned a heartfelt caption, expressing her situation. She had written:
“Your response to the Yashodha Trailer was overwhelming. It is this love and connection that I share with all of you, that gives me the strength to deal with the seemingly unending challenges that life throws at me. A few months back I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis. I was hoping to share this after it had gone into remission. But it is taking a little longer than I hoped. I am slowly realising that we don’t always need to put up a strong front.”
Being a much-loved actress, Samantha has been quite open when it came to share her troubles and hard journey through Myositis. She gave a glimpse of the same, and proved herself to be a woman of steel when she shared a cryptic post on her social media handle. It featured a picture frame, titled the ‘woman of steel’, that elaborated on how there is a way to conquer every battle bravely in life, and in the end, it will only make one come out stronger. Along with it, Samantha penned a caption where she boosted the morale of many others like her who have been suffering through some tough challenges in life.

Well, it is ironic that despite winning the hearts of her audience, Samantha became a target of nasty criticism and trolling from the audience itself, for whom she has always put her best foot forward and entertained them. Proof of the same was found when one of the netizens pointed out in a social media post, about how Samantha apparently lost all her beauty, when she made her first public appearance post being diagnosed with Myositis. However, the actress did not sit back and gave a witty response to it. She had mentioned:
“I pray you never have to go through months of treatment and medication like I did .. And here’s some love from me to add to your glow.”
