Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya were once the hottest couple in town, and their fans drooled over their on-screen and off-screen chemistry. However, when their friends and fans were eagerly waiting for the couple to complete four years of their marital bliss, an official statement from the couple came as a shocker for everyone.
Just four days before their fourth wedding anniversary, Chaitanya and Samantha announced their separation. It was definitely a devastating moment for ChaySam (as they were lovingly called) fans, but the duo never revealed what went wrong in their happy paradise. However, Chaitanya moved on and found love again in the arms of actress, Sobhita Dhulipala and is all set to tie the knot with her.

Reports have it that Chaitanya and Sobhita are all set to tie the knot on December 4, 2024. Days before his wedding with Sobhita, an old video of the actor sharing a romantic moment with Samantha resurfaced. In the video, Naga Chaitanya was asked to call Samantha during an interview. As Chaitanya called Samantha, he informed her that the call was on live.
Laughing from the other end, Samanatha thanked Chaitanya for warning her. He then asks her, ‘Prapancham lo enthamaina ammayi undaga, nenu Sam ne enduku love chesanu’, which when translated to English, means, ‘When there are so many beautiful women in the world, why did I fall in love with Sam?’ Hearing the question, Samantha gave an epic reply, which awestruck everyone. She said:
“I didn't give you an option.”
Samantha’s reply left the audience cheering, to which Chaitanya said, ‘I said I don’t want any other option’. Hearing such an answer from her husband, Samantha said, ‘I love you’, leaving Chaitanya blushing. It was definitely one of the cutest moments shared by the then couple, which left the audience in awe of them and their romantic chemistry off-screen.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya first met on the set of their first film, Ye Maaya Chesave. The two became friends and soon fell in love with one another. In September 2016, Samantha finally admitted that she was dating Chaitanya and added that they were not planning to get married soon. In January 2017, the duo got engaged, and on October 6, 2017, they had a dreamy wedding in Goa as per Hindu and Christian rituals.
A few months before their fourth wedding anniversary, reports of trouble in Samantha and Chaitanya's marriage hit the headlines. The rumours began when the actress dropped ‘Akkineni’ from her name on her social media handles. Her absence from Naga Chaitanya's father, Nagarjuna's birthday bash, added fuel to the fire. Finally, on October 2, 2021, Samantha and Chaitanya announced their mutual separation.
Samantha was shattered after her separation from Naga Chaitanya, and her anger was quite visible when she appeared in one of the episodes of Koffee With Karan 7. When the host, Karan Johar, asked her whether she and her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya, had hard feelings for each other, the actress confirmed it and said:
“There are hard feelings like if you put the both of us in a room you have to hide sharp objects. So as of now, yes. It's not an amicable situation right now. It might be in the future."
Soon after Chaitanya and Samantha’s separation, there were a lot of rumours of his affair with Sobhita Dhulipala. But both Chaitanya and Sobhita dismissed the rumours. They were papped together on multiple occasions, but they never revealed any deets about dating each other. On August 8, 2024, Chaitanya’s father, Nagarjuna, shocked everyone with the news of Chaitanya and Sobhita’s engagement.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Nagarjuna posted a picture of the newly engaged couple and wished them a lifetime of love and happiness. Penning details about the ceremony, he wrote:
“We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 am!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8 A beginning of infinite love."
Despite being divorced, Chaitanya and Samantha’s fans wished for the couple’s reunion, but it could never happen. However, the beautiful memories of the ex-couple keep reminding their fans of their timeless love.
