Samantha Ruth Prabhu is an active social media user who loves to update her fans with her day-to-day activities. The actress was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, Myositis, and she has been recovering from it. Samantha's IG feed is full of her treatment videos and some useful Ayurveda, acupuncture and homoeopathy remedies and methods. However, this time, she was slammed for spreading the wrong information.
It so happened that Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared a post about using hydrogen peroxide nebulisation, and a doctor slammed her for it. He called her a health illiterate and even mentioned that the actress should be sent to prison for her mistake. After much controversy, Samantha decided to clear the air behind her post and also reacted to the doctor's criticism, asking him to be polite.

On July 5, 2024, Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to her Instagram handle and shared a long post in which she talked about Dr Cyriac Abby Philips, aka 'The Liver Doc's criticism about her. The actress mentioned that a highly qualified doctor prescribed hydrogen peroxide nebulisation to her, and she merely suggested its use to her fans with good intentions. Samantha also asked the doctor to be polite and penned:
“It would have been kind and compassionate of him had he not being so proactive with his words. Especially the bit where he suggests I should be thrown in prison. Nevermind. I suppose it goes with the territory of being a celebrity. I posted as someone who needs medical treatment and not as a celebrity."
She also assured the doctor that she would be careful while sharing her social media posts about treatments online. However, the actress added that she would have appreciated it if the doctor had been a bit generous and had a debate with her doctor, whom she had tagged in the post. Samantha penned:
"It would have been nice had he politely invited my doctor, whom I have tagged in my post, rather than go after me. I would have loved to have learnt from the debate and discussion between two highly qualified professionals.”

Recently, The Liver Doc took to his X and shared a post slamming Samantha Ruth Prabhu after she recommended the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation. Not just this, he even called the actress a 'health and science illiterate', citing that the use of hydrogen peroxide nebulisation is dangerous for health. The doctor also mentioned that strict action should be taken against Samantha, and she should be put in jail. The award-winning doctor wrote:
“Influential Indian actress Ms Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is, unfortunately, a health and science illiterate, advises millions of her followers to inhale hydrogen peroxide to prevent and treat respiratory viral infections. Scientific society, The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, warning people to not nebulize and breathe in hydrogen peroxide because it is dangerous for health. In a rational and scientifically progressive society, this woman will be charged with endangering public health and fined or put behind bars. She needs help or a better advisor in her team.”
