Former tennis player Sania Mirza has been through a lot, but she never showed her vulnerable side to the media. Apart from being a renowned sportsperson and taking India to new heights in tennis, Sania kept her personal life away from the media glares — even when she had a difficult marriage with Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Malik. Recently, Sania appeared on Kapil Sharma's show on Netflix, and her stint is being loved by her fans across the nation.
Recently, we stumbled upon an unseen clip from Kapil Sharma's show, The Great Indian Kapil Sharm Show. In the clip, Sania played the role of a bahu, and Kapil enacted the role of her saasu-maa. Seeing him, Sania quipped how she had gotten married into an illiterate family. She said:
"Kin Jhailo mein mai ne shaadi kar li."

Further in the video, Sania served Kapil tea. However, it was their banter as saas-bahu that left netizens laughing out loud. When Kapil asked if it was tea or poison, Sania gave a befitting reply and said:
"Mai ne toh chai hi banayi thi. Apke mooh ko lag kar zehar ho gayi hogi."
After this, fans flooded the comment section, and netizens dragged Sania's ex-husband, Shoaib. Some claimed that she was talking from experience, while others stated she was telling the truth in her joke. One user wrote, "Ye kin jhahilo mene shaadi krli h was real." Another one commented, "Coming straight from her heart."

Sania and her family didn't talk about her divorce for long. However, after Shoaib announced his wedding to Sana Javed, the Mirza family spoke about the ex-couple's separation for the first time. On January 21, 2024, Sania's sister, Anam Mirza, took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture note on her behalf. She conveyed how Sania kept her personal life away from the media glares. She added that she separated from Shoaib a few months ago, and Sania wishes him well on his journey. Anam also said that it is a sensitive period of her life and requested privacy from fans.
Earlier, Sania's father, Imran Mirza, spoke to the PTI about the same. He shared that his daughter has taken a khula from him. In Islam, Khula is a legal term that refers to a form of divorce which is initiated by the wife, wherein she seeks a separation from her husband. Unlike talaq, which a husband takes, Khula allows the woman to divorce her husband, giving them equal rights.
