Sanjeeda Shaikh has impressed everyone with her performance in the web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The show, which marked Sanjay Leela Bhansali's OTT debut, showed Sanjeeda playing the role of 'Waheeda'. On the personal front, Sanjeeda dated actor, Aamir Ali for several years before tying the knot in 2012. The couple got separated in 2020 after 8 years of marital bliss and were granted divorce in 2021. Since then, Sanjeeda has been raising their daughter, Ayra Ali, single-handedly.
Speaking to Hauterrfly, Sanjeeda Shaikh opened up about her divorce from her husband, Aamir Ali, and said that she feels very lucky for whatever happened with her. She added that though she felt depressed back then, now she has realised that all of it had happened for her to become a better version of herself. She said:
“I feel I am very lucky (to have emerged from) whatever happened with me. Maybe I felt then that I was the most depressed person, or I was very sad, or, ‘What is happening with me, what is happening with my life?’ But to overcome all of that and to be happy with this version of myself, I am blessed.”

Speaking along the same lines, Sanjeeda mentioned that there are some men who try to demotivate women, telling them that they can't do anything. She added that it’s better to be away from such people. However, the actress shared that there are good and bad phases in every relationship, and a woman has to take a call at her lowest. Talking about the same, she said:
“There are men, and there are partners who try to demotivate you, who tell you that you can’t do anything. Or they will say you will not be able to do this. It’s better to be away from such people. There are phases in every relationship where you are happy, and then there are some when you are not, and then you take a call for your life and that’s what I did for myself, because I started loving myself and I started prioritising myself and that is very, very important.”
Sanjeeda also talked about being a single mother to her daughter, Ayra Ali, and mentioned that she hates the tag of being a 'single mother'. The actress shared that she has been fulfilling the same responsibilities with her little one, which she used to do when she was with Aamir. Talking about the same, Sanjeeda said:
“What is a single mother? I am a mother… I just tell everyone that a mother is a mother, single or not does not matter. My responsibilities won’t change. As a mother, what I have to do, I will do it.”

For the unversed, the rumours about Harshvardhan Rane and Sanjeeda Shaikh dating each other started making rounds on the internet after the duo's alleged pictures from their vacation with each other went viral. Finally, in an interview with News18, Harshvardhan opened up about the same and shared that the rumours about his and Sanjeeda's secret affair don't bother him. Mentioning that people can write anything about him, the actor said:
"It does not bother me because it is the job of journalists to write and they also have a weekly deadline and daily quota or target of stories to submit. I see them as humans who are trying to do a job, just like my job is to be in films."
