Bollywood actress, Sanjeeda Shaikh is living her best life as she gracefully stepped into her 40s on Friday, December 20, 2024. Amid celebrations of her milestone birthday, the stunning actress recently opened up about her journey of self-love, being a hands-on mom to her five-year-old daughter, Ayra, and prioritising her happiness over everything else.
Recently, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Sanjeeda Shaikh got candid in expressing how her life has changed since attaining motherhood, and how she learned to fit the shoes of a dad too, as a single mother. The actress, who had her daughter, Ayra Ali in 2018 with her ex-husband, Aamir Ali, shared how the five-year-old has transformed her in ways she never expected. The Heeramandi star shared:
“My daughter has changed the game for me. I feel stronger than any man on this planet. I’m more motivated to do good work, make more money, and to give her the best that she wants in life.”
For the unversed, Sanjeeda and Aamir officially split through a divorce in 2021, ending eight years of marriage. Following the divorce, the actress received custody of their daughter, Ayra Ali.
Earlier this year, Sanjeeda made headlines with her statement about ‘partners who try to demotivate you’ in a chat with Hautterfly. She shared that people, sometimes even partners, can discourage them and tell them they cannot do anything, and it is better to stay away from such people. Her comments drew a reaction from her ex-husband, Aamir Ali, who called discussing personal matters publicly ‘not his class’. In an interview with News 18, Aamir took a dig at Sanjeeda’s previous comment, saying:
“Ours is an old story now which is over. I know what I went through in that separation period and what happened to me. But washing dirty linen in public is not my class. I’ve never put anyone down and I never will, especially who I have shared a relationship with.”
Months after the incident, Sanjeeda finally addressed the incident which had created a lot of buzz. Talking about the same in her interview with Hindustan Times, Sanjeeda shared:

“I’ve matured since then. I’ve realised that not every situation requires a reaction. I’m truly happy in my own world. I believe in karma, and so I focus on enjoying life. I’m fortunate to have wonderful people in my life who always support me, along with a beautiful child. I truly believe in - Dimaag jitna saaf rakhoge, uthna khush rahoge.”
In the same interview, Sanjeeda was asked if she was ready for a new relationship. The actress was candid in her response, saying that she is no different from any other girl and is open to a relationship. Earlier, speculations of Sanjeeda dating actor, Harshvardhan Rane created quite a buzz on social media after fans noticed similarities between pictures they posted on Instagram from a holiday in the Gir forests. However, both actors dismissed them as rumours.
Sanjeeda was last seen playing the character, ‘Waheedajaan’ in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, where she won the hearts of fans. Now, she is gearing up to return to the screen for the much-anticipated sequel, Heeramandi 2. She will also be seen in the upcoming film, Kun Faya Kun.
