“I was born to a secular family, in a sovereign, secular, democratic republic. The spirit of standing up against what is wrong is within me. So, if I see it happening to not just me, but anybody around me, I will stand up. My religious beliefs, my food choices, how I decide to go to the airport, that’s my decision, and I’ll never apologise for that.”

Earlier, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Sara Ali Khan revealed that she used to get bothered when she found out that many other actresses began to copy her fashion statements and wore simple Indian outfits and no makeup for her airport looks. Sharing how all of it is not a gimmick but her true self, Sara said:
“It used to bother me when I used to think that I was being copied. Like this whole namaste, it’s not like an act. I genuinely greet people like that and suddenly it became a template that every girl was doing. This wearing Indian clothes at the airport and going with wet hair and all like it used to irritate me when other girls used to do it.”
Previously, while speaking to BollywoodLife, Sara Ali Khan recalled the phase in her career when quite a few of her films underperformed at the box office. She narrated how it impacted her equations with different members from the film fraternity, as they started to treat her differently than earlier. Sara stated that while earlier, these people were quite eager to speak with her at dinner parties, the very same people changed their behaviour and she was ignored at such parties.
