The moment a family receives the pregnancy news, everyone starts planning and dreaming about the little one. There is no doubt that after parents, it is the grandparents, who count days to meet the littlest member of their beautiful memory. The entire home starts turning into a baby nest and everything is brought, thinking about the little one. Grandparents are the ones, who start planning and investing in their grandson/granddaughters' future and they start practising rhymes and stories for their grandkids. And veteran actress, Sharmila Tagore had gone through the same rollercoaster of emotions when she had held her son, Saif Ali Khan's little angel, Sara Ali Khan in the year 1995. For those who don't know, Sara Ali Khan is the daughter of Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan, but the gorgeous actress has made her own name away from her parents' legacy. She hails from the renowned Pataudi family, and the 'Tagore' family's genes also run in her genes. And she takes immense pride in calling herself 'AmritaKiBeti'. From her good looks to her bindaas attitude, Sara is a carbon copy of her mother, Amrita. We remember in a media interaction, Sara had shared that she cannot live without her mother.
However, not many know that Sara shares a beautiful relationship with her father's family, despite the ugly separation of her parents. Recently, in an interview with The Times of India, Sara opened up on her bond with her grandmother, Sharmila Tagore. She said that she is blessed to have a grandmom like her. The actress said, "I'm very lucky to have a grandmother like her because she is very warm. She is amazing. She epitomizes dignity and grace. And she's also an extremely maternal and loving grandmother."
In the same interview, Sara also talked about seeing her grandmom, Sharmila ji on the silver screen. She said, "If I watch ‘Aradhana’, and ‘Mere Sapno ki Rani’, I’m like, Oh my God, that's my dadi! Like, are you serious? Because she's just superb, you know, she's a star. I think she's the first star in my opinion. So sometimes it's almost confusing for me, like, really that lady is my grandmother! You know, it's weird. It is very strange. But, I mean, she's amazing. And I'm very lucky to have her in my life." In December 2020, when Sharmila ji had turned a year older, Sara had penned a lovely note for her. She had shared a picture with her and had captioned it as "Happy happy Birthday Badi Amman. Thank you for being my pillar of support, guiding force and inspiration. I love you lots."

Earlier, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Sara had talked about her father and had said, "I know my father very well. Dad is like me, so he says what he is thinking at that particular point. He never really says things for any ulterior motive. I love my mother a lot. I think when you have a lot of time to show a feeling or emotion, it’s easier. Mum is a single mother and I am everything because of her but she has every day to show how much she loves me. I don’t live with my father so, I haven’t felt that [emotion from his side]."
