Sara Ali Khan's journey into films was not as smooth as it seemed. Recently, she opened up about getting sued for Rs. 5 crore by her first film director.

Sara Ali Khan Was Sued For Rs. 5 Crore By 'Kedarnath' Director, Reveals 'Was Served A Vakalatnama..'

Sara Ali Khan was able to successfully carve her niche in Bollywood with her first film, Kedarnath. Later, she rose to a new level of success with her second film, Simmba. While people may think that she got it all easy on a silver platter, this wasn't the case. Yes, Sara Ali Khan was sued for Rs. 5 crores by her film director while she was still shooting the film. It was a time of chaos, but not once did Sara let the world know about her struggles.

Sara Ali Khan recalled getting sued by her first film director on date issues

Recently, in an interview with the Mid Day, Sara Ali Khan recalled how she was embroiled in a legal fight just before her debut due to some schedule issues. Sara revealed that she was left shattered by the experience, as she had no idea how to handle things. Not only this, but her personal life also had some tough days as her grandfather (Amrita Singh's father) had passed away, her brother was in school, and she was served with vakalatnama.

Sara Ali Khan recalled her nervousness after she was sent a vakalatnama 

Further, Sara revealed that Kedarnath's director, Abhishek Kapoor sued her for Rs. 5 crore while she was still shooting for the film. The issue happened as she had signed Rohit Shetty's film, Simmba, and some dates of the two films coincided. She said:

T"hen some dates went upar-neeche, and I also signed Simmba. But now, there were three or four dates that were coinciding. And yeah, so I got sued for Rs 5 crore. I was very nervous, because I didn’t have Rs 5 crore. My grandfather, my mother’s father, was dying, in Delhi. My mother was with him. Ibrahim was in school. And I was served a ‘vakalatnaama’ at home. I didn’t know what to do."

Sara further revealed that she decided to send her management to court as she had to go to shoot, which the makers of Kedarnath were aware of as they were also on the same set. Sara, being Sara, decided to break the ice after this legal fight with her director, Abhishek. She asked him if he would like to have the 'famous coffee' made by her spot girl, and he agreed. Sara stated that her shoot went smoothly after the episode. 

Sara was further asked how the issues were resolved and if her management was sued instead of her. Sara stated that the matter was resolved when the two filmmakers had a meeting together. Rohit Shetty agreed to give three days to Abhishek Kapoor. Recalling those days, Sara stated that it was hectic as she had spent a lot of time flying from Hyderabad to Mumbai, as she was shooting the two films simultaneously. 

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan was last seen in the film, Ae Watan Mere Watan.
