Satish Shah is one of the most renowned actors in the film industry, widely known for his perfect comic timing and exceptional acting mettle. His inclination for films had started quite early on in life, and he even pursued a course in acting at the Film And Television Institute of India in Pune. Some of his memorable performances to date add to sitcoms like Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. Other than television serials, he has also enacted exemplary roles in films like, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho, Main Hoon Na among so many others. In his personal life, Satish is married to eminent designer, Madhu Shah.
In an interview with CNN-News18, Satish Shah opened up on the mentality of Indian crowds and fans, who fail to distinguish between an actor and the person who they are in real life. Narrating an insensitive episode on the same, Satish mentioned how he was once approached by a random man, who recognised him as a talented comedian in a hospital. At that time, Satish was totally occupied and worried about his ailing wife, Madhu who was admitted in the hospital itself. Recalling how the man suddenly made a berserk request to him for cracking jokes, he mentioned:
“They expect you to be funny even when one is in an environment where one has to be serious. It happens, but one has to live with it. My wife was seriously ill, she was almost dying on the operation table. And I was very tense, because we’d been married only for three months. I was sitting outside, very worried, and a guy comes to me and says, kya yaar, aap aise serious baithe ho, ache nahi lag rahe ho, koi joke-woke maaro. I could’ve hit him with a knockout punch instead. But somehow, better sense prevailed, and I just walked off. But it’s part of the baggage we carry.”

Satish Shah has been a cordial and friendly co-star with all of his colleagues, and his vivid performance in a film amid a stellar star cast is a fitting proof of it. For instance, taking to his Twitter handle, Satish had recalled a fun banter he had with his Chalte Chalte co-star, Shah Rukh Khan. He remembered getting an extra payment for the film, and informed about it to SRK, whose company, Dreamz Entertainment had produced it. However, when he told the latter about it, SRK wittingly asked Satish not to inform it to his wife, Gauri about it.
In one of his previous interviews with ETimes, Satish Shah spoke about his experience in working on such a popular sitcom like Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. He mentioned that the show went from no TRP at all to being one of the most-hyped shows back in the days, which gave all of the cast and crew of the sitcom a sweeping stardom. However, Satish also mentioned how he would receive compliments from women who would love to have a father or father-in-law like him, based on his character on the show. Sadly, no woman did ever approach him and complimented him and mentioned to have a husband like him. Instead, they mentioned that they would hate to have a husband like him. In his words:
"I have met girls who told me I would love to have a father-in-law like you. I have met guys who said I would love to have a father like you. I have met women who would say I would hate to have a husband like you."
