Shah Rukh Khan's journey in Bollywood and his never-ending love for his dream house, Mannat is known to everyone. While he worked immensely hard to make his mark in his acting career, SRK also went to all kinds of extremities to procure the beautiful abode in Mumbai. Indeed, SRK's journey from a middle-class household to becoming the King of romance worldwide is worth mentioning. Now, a commercial filmmaker, Prahlad Kakkar revealed what the Badshah of Bollywood did compared to one of his contemporaries, and it has a deep connection with Mannat.
In an interview with Zoom, advertisement film director, Prahlad Kakkar opened up about shooting an old Pepsi commercial with the then-budding star, Aamir Khan. While Prahlad was searching for a hero for the advertisement, Aamir's name was suggested. This was when Aamir's debut film, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, released in 1988, became a prolific success at the box office. Thus, Prahlad was also heavily interested in keeping Aamir in the ad shoot. However, Aamir demanded a huge amount of Rs. 25 lakhs for the same. Following this, Prahlad had to approach Shah Rukh Khan for the same, and the latter immediately gave affirmation.

Moreover, Shah Rukh accepted the offer for just Rs. 6 lakhs. In the same interview, Prahlad explained the reason behind Shah Rukh's drastic affirmation was related to procuring his dream house, Mannat. The commercial film director mentioned that at that time, SRK was living in a rented accommodation. Thus, the actor needed money to buy a house, and for the same, he was accepting all such opportunities, which were coming his way. However, Prahlad wanted to do the commercial with Aamir only and thus, when he could convince him in some way, he did some other commercial shoot with Shah Rukh.
Further, Prahlad revealed that initially, Aamir was reluctant to perform in the commercial as during that era, it was a preconceived notion that actors turned to the advertisement sector, when their film careers weren’t going well. However, the advertisement filmmaker assured the then-budding star that it would give a boost to his career instead. He told Aamir, “It will make you bigger as an actor.” Finally, Aamir agreed to act in the commercial along with Mahima Chaudhary and Aishwarya Rai.
