Shah Rukh Khan has seen the most difficult phase of his life but never lost hope of a better future. The actor believed in working hard, and it was his just keenness to achieve success that made him the 'last of the superstars'. However, Shah Rukh lost both his parents at the age of 26. Despite seeing the worse of life, Shah Rukh stayed dedicated to his work. Recently, Shah Rukh's first film director, Ketan Mehta shared an interesting anecdote about his life.
Recently, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the director, Ketan Mehta talked about shooting in Shimla and how the entire cast reached on time, including Shah Rukh, for whom it was his first film. However, the shocking part was that Shah Rukh Khan's mother was critical when he shot his first film in Shimla. Ketan Mehta applauded his professionalism and said:
"Hats off to Shah Rukh Khan. His mother at that time was in a critical situation. The entire unit had reached Shimla. Not wanting to delay the shoot, he landed up. I am grateful for his positive energy."

Ketan Mehta further talked about young Shah Rukh Khan's energy on the set. Ketan revealed that SRK was full of energy and wanted to prove himself. He said:
"When it’s the first film, any actor would give his/her best. He was full of energy and wanted to prove himself. He had positive energy for the whole shoot."
The 57-year-old actor, Shah Rukh Khan always believed that the death of his parents for his biggest loss. He was just fifteen when he had seen his father taking his last breath. And the hardships didn't stop there, and he lost his mother in 1991, when he was just 26 years old. His parents were never able to witness the superstardom Shah Rukh enjoyed.

Once for the promotion of his best friend, Rani Mukerji's film, Hichki, Shah Rukh shared his own hichki moment, he called it his parents' demise. He revealed how the empty house without his parents would bite him and his sister, Shehnaz Lalarukh Khan. He was quoted as saying:
"My greatest ‘Hichki moment’ is the death of my parents. I was 15 when my father passed away and 26 when my mother passed away. It was very sad for us. The empty house without my parents used to come to bite us (Shah Rukh and his sister Shehnaz Lalarukh Khan). The loneliness, pain and sadness of the loss of both my parents, could have been overwhelming enough to take over my life wholly."
Shah Rukh further added that he decided to overcome the hichki moment by working. He added that for him acting was not just work but a place to vent out his feelings. He had said:
"I decided to overcome this Hichki moment by letting acting fill up my entire life. My parents went away suddenly. We got to know they had cancer and within two and a half months, they were gone. I didn’t know what to do. I just felt one night, while at their mazaar that I should fill this void with something. I got a fortunate break in films. For me, acting is not work but a place to vent out my feelings."
Well, Shah Rukh is definitely an inspiration to all of us!
