Shah Rukh Khan is not only an actor but the heartthrob of many. He has been playing a number of roles onscreen for more than three decades and is indeed a hero for people from different generations. From being the king of romance to serving pure adrenaline-fuelled action scenes, Shah Rukh has indeed etched a special place in the history of Indian cinema. However, with time, as modern technologies have emerged, actors have also adapted to the same. For instance, while SRK showed pure actions in his film, Main Hoon Na, much of the VFX was seen in his recent movies, Pathaan and Jawan. Now, an action director commented on the same.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Allan Amin opened up about the adrenaline-fuelled action scenes in his action directorial, Main Hoon Na. He mentioned how he unleashed a new era in Indian action cinema by putting Shah Rukh Khan on a cable, hanging him from a helicopter and doing many other risky fight scenes. He also explained how it was a complete planning to shoot the climax scene, wherein SRK’s character, 'Ram' had to run while the building behind him was exploding. Sharing that it was two different shoots merged together. Allan revealed:
“He was always sure about what he wanted. Then I made it simpler and doable. Main Hoon Na was the first film in which we brought deep freeze…it was a 180-degree camerawork. It was used in the cycle rickshaw scene. We first made SRK run and then we conducted the explosion. In the post-production, both were merged. You can’t have an actor up there during an explosion.”

During the same interview, Allan also explained that although the film was packed with a number of scenes, they shot everything in real. Praising SRK for nailing those shots, the action director made a comparison between the actor's recent films, Pathaan and Jawan, which also highlighted his power-packed scenes. However, Allan mentioned that special effects are highly used nowadays, which was not much seen earlier. He expressed:
“In Main Hoon Na, he did action for real. We put him on cable, and we hung him from the helicopter. We made him do all those things. In Pathaan and Jawan, it’s all done against the green screen. Hence, the impact is not that much.”
Further, Allan mentioned that despite the 2004 film, Main Hoon Na, directed by Farah Khan, being filled with so many action and fight scenes, there weren’t any injuries. Herein, he explained how beautiful it was while working with Farah for her directorial debut. Allan added that it was great fun and shared:
“She thinks total masala! It was good fun collaborating with her.”
