Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have always been speculated to be at loggerheads in Bollywood. For the longest time, people have believed that they aren’t exactly friendly to one another and couldn't see one another eye-to-eye owing to professional rivalry and jealousy. While their cold war continued for a long time, the Khan have now become best of friends.
With an equal career span of 30 years, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have been contemporaries for a long time. While they appear to share an amicable bond with one another, there have been multiple times when they wouldn't miss a chance to take a dig at one another. For instance, back in 2013, Shah Rukh had appeared in a press conference, wherein he took a witty dig at the latter’s habit of being extremely meticulous and striving to achieve perfectionism all the time. Shah Rukh remembered an anecdote with Aamir and hilariously mentioned how the latter was perfect about ordering a cup of tea for himself on a flight when they were together. Recalling what he said to Aamir at the end of it, SRK mentioned:

“Plane mein maine coffee mangi, black coffee. Ussne chai maangi, doodh ke saath. To Aamir thoda sa waqt leta hai har cheez ko decide karne mein. Toh usne doodh dala, phir 2 minute wait karlo, colour aa jaaye. And wo bohot serious hai iss maamle mein. Humare ghar jab aate hai, hum poochte hai chai peeyoge? Kal bata dena yaar. Hum ghoom ke aa rahe hain.”

Well, this mutual camaraderie is not just from Shah Rukh Khan, but Aamir Khan, too shares the same kind of equation. Proof of the same was found during the promotions of Aamir’s film, Laal Singh Chaddha, he heaped praises on SRK and even went onto compare his talents with that of Elvis Presley. He had mentioned:
“Shah Rukh is a friend, and I told him that I needed someone who could represent what Elvis represented in America and is the biggest iconic star in India, which is why I’m coming to you.”
In the same interaction, Aamir Khan also revealed another anecdote concerning Shah Rukh Khan. Aamir credited SRK and his production house, Red Chillies for coming in time to save his then-released film, Laal Singh Chaddha for clashing with the much-anticipated Telugu film, KGF at the box-office. He mentioned how Red Chillies required still some more time to complete the VFX for KGF so it was safe for him to release his own film without any clash at the box-office.

In one of his earlier interviews with Filmfare, Shah Rukh Khan had made some startling statements about Aamir Khan. He accepted the latter as his closest rival in the industry, but also added how he was a far better actor than him. In his words:
“Well, there's Aamir Khan, I can’t call him competition, he is a far better actor. If there's a superb actor in a country today it’s Aamir. I’ve heard that he wants to retire after 30 and turn director. I plan to quit at 30 too."
What do you think about SRK’s witty dig at Aamir Khan’s likeliness towards perfectionism?
