Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan became proud parents to a baby boy on November 12, 1997, and named him Aryan Khan. Now, in an old video which resurfaced on the internet, Shah Rukh and Gauri could be seen recalling the time of their firstborn, Aryan’s birth. During their appearance on Rendezvous With Simi Garewal, Simi asked Gauri if Shah Rukh shared her pregnancy experience with her. Recalling the time Gauri went into labour, Shah Rukh said that he tried his best to be there for his loving wife and added:
“I didn’t know how a woman reacts when she goes into labour. I had heard that you’re supposed to breathe with her, but she wasn’t breathing. Yeah, she was screaming very strangely, nothing like how they show in films.”

Reacting to SRK's statement, Gauri revealed that she hardly had any labour pain because she had a Caesarean. To this, Shah Rukh added that he had seen in films that a woman is supposed to breathe calmly during labour, but he didn't know that it didn’t matter with a Caesarean. Revealing that he was still breathing like that, the actor said:
“Then they went for the Caesarean and it was very stupid because I was like when the baby’s coming out, you’re supposed to breathe. I didn’t know that it didn’t matter with a Caesarean. I was still breathing like that.”
Recalling the time of Aryan’s delivery, Gauri said that Shah Rukh was totally into the process and was clicking pictures. She added that her husband had a key role in nearly pulling the baby out and shared that the doctors asked him to let them do their work. Gauri was heard saying:
“He was nearly pulling the baby out. The doctors were like, ‘Let us do our work.'”

Shah Rukh Khan shared that he went into the labour room with the mask on and saw the incision happening. He revealed that he really enjoyed the moment and added that the process was not at all gruesome. Talking about the beauty of nature and is processes, the actor said:
“I went in with my mask and everything and took the baby out. I saw the incision and everything, though she told me not to see it. I really enjoyed the moment. I’m not trying to sound morbid or gruesome, but the sight of this, nature’s colours of even redness of the blood or blue parts there or yellow fat, it’s so translucent. It’s not at all gruesome. You’ll never see colours like that in your life.”
Speaking along the same lines, Shah Rukh Khan recalled that soon after Aryan's head came out first, the latter started crying. He shared that there was an amazing celebration time in the operation theatre and everyone was rejoicing that his and Gauri's baby boy was born. However, SRK added that instead of holding his baby first, he went to see if Gauri was doing okay. In his words:
“His head came out first and it was a little grey. As soon as he came out… even before he completely came out, he started crying. There was this amazing celebration time in the operation theatre. They were like, ‘It’s a boy!’ as if they had also worked very hard towards this. I just wanted to see if Gauri was okay. I wasn’t as close to him at the time, I had known her longer.”
